Waiting game

I don't like this waiting game that I have been having with getting a new PM. Since October they have been saying that my battery is running out. I got it checked again in January then again in May. I just got it checked this last Monday. The battery is at 1 to 7 more months. This is going to be my 5th Pm since 1984. I don't remember the first 2 being like this at all. Of course I was still child at the time. It was kind of fast last time. My current PM will be 8 years old later this month. When do they actually schedule the surgery to get a new battery???? I don't like this waiting game at all. I don't want the surgery but I want it to be the end of the waiting game. I will get rechecked on August 1.

The predictions on when batteries can go is unreliable. If you are within 6 months, I would just get it over with and not have it hanging over your head. The new pacers probably will last longer. 8 years is reasonable, but they told me 10. good luck! its not a big deal

insurance?

Some drs wait for EOL before doing it. Some insurance requires it be EOL before it can be replaced, that might be what they're waiting for. Ask if you can get it done, tell them it's close enough and you want to do it now. I've always chosen when to do it once they tell me it's low. I'm on #4 so you've got me beat ;)
