Both beta blockers ( eg metoprolol) and alcohol can relax your blood vessels so the two together MAY lead to too big a fall in your blood pressure .
I know loads of people who do drink while on beta blockers and Im sure you will be fine on your 3 glasses of whiskey a week. But , as Tracey says it may be a bad idea ; it really does depend on how important to you those 3 glasses are. It may be worthwhile you buying a BP monitor and seeing what does happen to you when you mix the two.
I would definitely avoid drinking LOTS of alcohol while on metoprolol

warnings

I switched from metoprolol to atenolol, which has no alcohol warnings. Made me very happy to see that :o)
I never tried drinking while on metoprolol, partially because the giant warning label scared me, partially because it made me feel drunk (which is why I didn't stay on it long)

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.

I'm pretty sure alcohol mixed with metoprolol is a bad idea. Check with your pharmacist or dr to confirm but when I was on it it had a big yellow warming sticker on the bottle.
