stem cell growing new sa nodes

Wondering if anyone has had a new sa node grown from stem cells and if they have had them implanted?

Hi!

I don't think this is ready to be tested in humans, yet. It was only in 2010 when researchers found out that it's possible that cardiac stem cells differentiate into sinus node cells. In 2012 another team of researchers programmed ordinary heart cells to act like specialized pacemaker cells by injecting a gene, but this has not even been tested in animals, yet, as far as I know. So, I guess it's still a VERY long way until there will be trials with humans.

Inga I read that a gene was injected into a virus which was then successfully injected into the heart of a guinea pig..leading to the apparent creation of normal sinus node cells.

But, bmom91, as Inga said it will need years of further tests before human guinea pigs are used
