So this is what I know now.
Dont let military recruiters tell you are medically disqualified without first following the provided info below.
According to Volume II COMNAVCRUITCOMINST 1130.8J- Eligibility requirement, Command, Navy Recruiting Command 2011,
Number 1.
(1) If applicants are rejected for enlistment or affiliation because of medically disqualifying conditions, the examining physician is responsible for informing the applicant of the disqualifying condition, either in person or in writing. Only
physicians may convey medical information concerning a disqualifying diagnosis to the applicant.
Number 2
According to COMNAVCRUITCOMINST 1131.2E which holds the list of waiverable and non-waiverable conditions.....Pacemaker does not appear on the non waiverable side....Funny. Also
e) History of Cardiovascular disorders such as repaired congenital heart malformation or conductive disorder (WPW) treatment, is stated as waiverable...
Also, This is from the USMEPCOM directly,
There is a rule in the DoDI that all applicants with pacemakers do have to be reviewed by the waiver authority. This question might be better answered by the respective waiver authority of the service in question here.
If you have done this any are still medically disqualified you can request the waiver to be sent up the chain of command.
Hope this helps
Also I am going to Meps on Wednesday. My medical prescreen go approved. YEY.

All went well, a stitch was polking through, they cut it off and said all looks great, told me no heart block was present, happy to hear that. Told me that I was going to have to make friends with my pacemaker before I ever got to feeling better, most of my problems are anxiety at this point. Except it and move on.
You know you're wired when...
You can feel your fingers and toes again.

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.

Just had a dual chamber PM put in on the 25th of July, still very anxious about the hole ordeal, they said I have SSS. When do you ever except this in your life, I just turned 50 and I am a very worried guy at this point. I just made an appoinment at Mayo for the 18th. Hopeing they say they can fix this problem or at least some of it. Does anyone feel heavy flutters when the heart races to about 120bpm ? Kind of a doomy feeling ? Scares the crap out of me. :(
