Palpitations post Covid

I came down with Covid the second week of February. Looking back, the first symptom was a fast heartrate. It felt so strange, I grabbed my little pulse/ox meter. O2 95, HR 100. I'm pacemaker dependent, so a resting HR of 100 gets my attention. It stayed elevated about a minute then went back to the set minimum of 70. The same thing happened 3-4 times over the next several hours.

I woke the next morning definitely feeling unwell, took a Covid test and was positive. I was given Paxlov...

Physical work

What is your experience with hard/physical labor jobs that have a lot of arm movement and lifting heavy objects? Does this cause pain/swelling over the site or problems with leads detaching? I'm worried that it will affect my job, my E.P said it's all good but I struggle with swelling and some discomfort after a long day and I haven't even started working yet...

Pacemaker lowered in pocket

Hi

I got my 6th (I think 🤣) pacemaker in October.
come February (about 4 months after device change) the same leads were used. I noticed that my pacemaker has gotten lower (maybe an inch or a bit more) I can also see the outline of one of the leads from under my skin near the scar (which wasn't visible prior)

this has never happened with any of my other devices.

this last device change the doctor said one of the leads had damage to the insulatio...

Swelling over site

I got my pacemaker in June 2022 at 16, and ever since I have swelling over the pacemaker site at the end of most days that leads to slight numbness in my arm and discomfort. Does anyone else have a common experience and is this normal? I'm studying as a chef and I'm worried it's going to influence my work in the future. Any help is appreciated!

Lead Replacement - Tricuspid Regurgitation

My old Paemaker and leads were removed and two new leads installed 2/6/24. During lead removal, the lead broke and they had difficulty getting it out. During the process,  the Tricuspid valve was damaged and I am experiencing extreme fatigue and dizziness. They wanted  me on lasix, but my blood pressure is low and I don't want to risk of it going even lower. I want to seek immediate repair and meeting with cardiologist tomorrow. Does anyone have a recpmmendation as to the m...

HOT TUBS

In the morning my wife and I like to go outside and have our coffee in the hot tub. This morning after sitting in the tub for about 30 minutes I felt a tingle or spasm where the pacer is at. So I got out of the tub, my heart rate was 106 bpm. The tub is set at 102 degrees. I have an appointment for a device check tomorrow. But my wife wanted me to post a message to the group.

Irregular heartbeat

Hello, my wife has a two-wire pacemaker. It was stuck due to AV block condition. AV block condition becomes more evident under medication. Recently, a sequence like this started to occur in your heartbeats. One, two, three strikes, some waiting and one hard strike. Our doctor said it was due to extra systoles; But my wife nearly always feel them. She is very uncomfortable with the situation. Started taking 2.5 mg concor and 150 mg rhytmonorm. Medications provide some relief; but it can't...

Pacemaker induced left ventricular systolic dysfunction

Good morning everyone,

I'll try to make my question brief, despite the lengthy subject title.

I had Medtronic dual lead PM implanted three months ago (along with a TAVR, the day before). I am 100% paced. 74 years old.

I had an echocardiogram last week with my local cardio. He called me in to discuss it. My ejection fraction went down enough that he was concerned  and is scheduling a nuclear stress test to determine if my 80-90% clogged coronaries need stenting. The...

Atorvastatin

I am 64 years old, had my pacemaker in July 2019, and I have never have problems with cholesterol in my life and my cholesterol levels are normal. The Pharmacist wanted to introduce me to 20mg atorvastatin per day, knowing that this tablet will lower my cholesterol levels more. Has anyone having the same issue or what advice can anyone recommend? It would be highly appreciated.

Co-Vid after affects

I am wondering if anyone has had any issues from having Co-Vid.

After getting vaccinations religiously, wearing mask and staying out of crowds, I ended up getting Covid for Christmas this year, which I of course ended up sharing with my husband.  Started Dec 23 and I am just about done now, but still testing positive.
I have a CRT Pacemaker, 4 1/2 years with this one.  In the past four or five days I have been feeling some butterflies in my chest that...

PM Flipping

Hi,  Wondering if this is a normal thing.

I woke up lying on my side as usual and I stretched my arm up and notice my PM was up on its side. Totally freaked me out and made it a very restless night the next night.

Pericarditis

I am a 72 yr old nationally ranked athelete who had a PM implanted 3 months ago for total AV block.  There were a series of minor complications from the surgery (punctured lung, repositioned lead, etc) but nothing major.  After the surgery I did not feel right. I had multiple symptoms: flutter, Thumps in chest, lightheadedness, and tightness/heaviness in my chest. They changed some PM settings (DDI to VDDR) and the flutters and Thumps went away. But the tightness/irritation in my ch...

I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for pacemakers. I've had mine for 35+ years. I was fainting all of the time and had flat-lined also. I feel very blessed to live in this time of technology.
