Finding a Doctor that knows my Medtronic device

How can I find a Heart Doctor that knows my Medtronic Adapta DDRL1? I want a doctor that has a Medtronic Programmer (or Better) in his/her office and can explain to me what is going on when he/she views the pacemaker with the programmer. How can I find such a Doctor? I'm in Cedarhurst NY. Somone fairly close would be good but at this point I would travel just to see a knowlegable Heart Doctor that knows my device. I've had the device since 2012 and I have never seen such a Doctor...

Medtronic

I had a Medtronic pacemaker in 2008 model SEDR01 I talked to my Dr. And told him I had read they were not accurate as far as battery life? And being I was 100% dependent on it I was concerned I also sent him what I had found about there lake of accuracy. He said I was fine and he would be watching it? Treadmill Stress Test tomorrow........

So..tomorrow , yours truly is doing a Stress Test because my replacement Tissue Aortic valve is , after ten years , heading towards being written off for a new one..

My valve pressure numbers have gone down considerably over the last year.

Over the last four weeks I have been at the gym and giving the treadmill some serious assault, up to the 15% maximum gradient and well into 160bpm zone...I have totalled 42 km / marathon distance at 600 cal/hour rate..

Adjustment

Implanted with Medtronics Eluna 5 mos ago. Felt great until,last week, had a check at pm clinic and adjustment was made to prolong battery.  Although my heart rate still set at 60, I have an "on edge" feeling ever since. Will I eventually adjust to the be setting or call and get adjusts back?

Need some advice

First, some history.  I had my first pacemaker in 2012, a single lead pacemaker.  It was replaced by a dual lead pacemaker with a defib on the advice of my cardiologist, and I have had it until now, at age 85.

Now what? Do I do or should I go?

I had my settings changed today and this evening felt  a sudden feeling of lightheadedness that I hadn't felt since before my surgery. I only felt lightheaded twice before I got my pacemaker. SHould I call the doctor tomorrow? I was supposed to travel with friends for the weekend but now I'm afraid I will have to cancel my trip.

Rate drop reponse

One year with a Medtronic pacemaker. My blood pressure is slightly low and I do not take any meds.  Recently I have fainted after bending over and standing up. Rate Drop Response feature is currently turned off.  Tech thinks turning it on would correct the problem.  Has anypne had a similar situation?

Closed Loop vs. Rate Response

So in my 3-1/2 months of having a Pacer due to Bradycardia, I have been on a roller coaster with settings. I'm pretty sure that I was originally set on Closed Loop and was moved to Rate Response in early February when I was zapped out of an Afib event (Which I'm positive the Pacer triggered). Brushing teeth and rate response

Hi Guys, 

I've had my rate response turned on for a week now after having my PM for nearly 8 years. This morning I was brushing my teeth with my right hand which is the same side that my PM is on. A few seconds in, I felt a little out of breath and like my heart was racing. I am 59 and  was diagnosed with Sick Sinus Syndrome 7 months ago. A week after my pacemaker was implanted my doctor reprogrammed my device to save battery. Is my Cardiologist right?

Hi Guys,

I'm 34 and have a pacemaker for Sinus Node Disease (implanted at age 27). I saw my Cardiologist for a PM check up in Feb and explained that I get the occasional faint feeling and like my breath gets taken away from me really quickly. I seems every time the tech checks my device I have pvc's for a day or two.  Also the testing gives me a really, really bad feeling - anyone else out there have this problem.  Seems like it doesn't take a whole lot to make me have pvc's.

More Frustration With Settings

So, after a month of tachycardia issues assisted by my overly sensitive settings on my Pacer, I had the Tech do ANOTHER adjustment on Friday afternoon. The new setting apparently shut off the standard sensitivity levels and changed to the Closed Loop Setting. Now, things should go from the Pacer shooting my HR to 120 from the simple task of taking a walk due to the vibration it feels through my body, back to normal, right?

A-Ha!

So this is only my second topic after having a Pacer put in due to Bradycardia at the end of December. For 3+ weeks now I've been having very strange Tachycardia issues accompanied by a fluttering feeling when walking.
