Hello!
Question for people with Medtronic PMs...
Has anyone had to make tweaks to their PVARP, AV delay, Min PAV/SAV settings so that they can get back into running/cycling?

I have a dual lead Medtronic Azure XT PM which is currently set in DDD (only). My SA node is working fine and is driving the AV node. We are currently trying to optimize the settings for my extracurricular activities.
The tech was saying that when the PM is in DDD mode, none of the rate response settings matter EVEN IF the Rate Profile Optimizatoin setting is set to ON. I cannot find anything in the manuals that supports this statement. I was wondering if anyone has any data that can pr...

I have a Patient Monitor (Medtronic "My Care Link") non wireless model placed near my bed. I have not been asked to send transmissions yet but the device sometimes lights up in the night and therefore wakes me up. I do not want to move it to another part of my bedroom since my house has thick stone walls and the mobile phone signal is weaker further from the window.
I have made a cover from a small cardboard box to place over the device so that if it does this...

Dear Friends,
I am due to have a pacemaker change to a Boston Scientific (thank you NHS). Just waiting for a date. (" Please phone if you have not had a date in the next 6 weeks").
Do you guys have any advice re. Settings (RR & MV) for swimming, cycling, table-tennis, dancing?
I do find my St Jude Verity PM is not so good for lifting weights, stairs, ballroom dancing, and getting going for swimming and cycling... though I...

Hi,
I have a Medtronic Azure S pacemaker working in AAI (R) mode.
During last check I got printouts with the following information:
AP (Atrial Pacing) 90.4%
VP (Ventricle Pacing) 0.1% (MVP ON)
Is it normal the PM to pace in the right Ventricle in AAI (R) mode?
What is the meaning of MVP, how it works?
Thanks
Just some information

Hi all,
I started life with my pacemaker with a 2:1 block and around 45% pacing.
I struggled a little bit with exercise and they performed a treadmill stress test which showed that whilst my atria could beat at 180bpm, my pacemaker was needed to match that. As such my upper rate was adjusted to 180bpm.
All good, everything felt fine with my heart but.....I was pacing 100% now in the ventricles.
To treat another issue (autoimmune disease) I have been injecting wit...

Hi, I'm knew to all of this so sorry if my question has been asked before. I'm 6-weeks PostOp pacemaker placement. I am trying to learn as much as I can so I do things right. I'm wondering if I can use ear phones or the wireless earbuds? Or if I can't I was thinking would it be safe to just put the right one in away from my pacemaker site. It's sounds like a silly question but I just want to be sure it won't interfere with my pacemaker. I'd appreciate any advi...

Hi
I have 2:1 heart block and a long PR interval
For most of this year I have been on DDD with rate adaptive AV.
the rate adaptive setting appeared to be the only way of me getting 1:1 pacing when exercising. This also included an upper tracking rate of 180bpm. Everything seemed fine no symptoms of anything even during my limited exercise events this year.
But this has meant I now pace 100% in the ventricles.
Last week after an appointment I was mov...

I have a St Jude pacer/Dedefibrillator installed early 2017 . I moved to Philippines 3 months later. I go to a cardiologist at Makati Medical, in Manila. I get tested every 6 months to keep an eye on my batteries, and to check for any events. I have a leaking Mitral valve (moderate) and I have to time my return to the US for battery replacement & valve inspection (probably time for repair). My point: The Cardiologist charges me: $37.00 for the test, shares the results on screen and...

I communicated my concerns to my EP that some settings had been "accidentally" changed, and that I might be having PMT and sent a Merlin transmission. They have assured me that the PVARP is correct and the pacemaker mode is DDIR--which I had forgotten. So no PMT.
Thanks again to all who replied to my post and to this forum in general. When questions come up, it's so comforting to have knowledgeable, sympathetic people to talk things over with and figure out what...

I get checked every 6 months and I have a latitude communicator to transmit information to the EP lab for them to check the pacemaker all the time. Find what is going on with doctor. No one should ever be discharged from your doctor.

So August 16 2021, I was pacing atrial 34.7%, ap-vp 0 and as-vp 0
Then on August 2oth, I started having a weird pause feeling. That was my ventricle lead which is a his bundle lead, pacing and the delay was pretty long. Had my settings changed with mvp shut off. That was August 31st. Interrogation from that day showed atrial pacing 78% ap-vp 0% as-vp .01%. So now I feel these beats that feel like pvcs. Check kardia ecg and have a wide qrs. Settings changed again so on Sept 7...

When my CRT D was placed I was told that my HR wouldn't go below 60 so I was concerned when I saw it at 51. I called the hospital and asked for the settings on paper so I knew what they were and was told they are not given to the patients? I find this very strange. I was told a similar thing when I had a Holter monitor in June so I have no idea of the results.

Hi everyone,
I'm monitored every night and so is the data being sent when I have about 30 seconds sensation of slightly elevated and thumping heart beats?
If so then this is getting slightly earlier every night and at this rate in a few months time it'll be happening when I'm not even in bed 🥴

Had my 3rd ICD implanted in 2019 and recently underwent 3 heart procedures in the past 6 months. Today was an ICD check. The technician/RN Nurse turned up the ICD really high to the point I was begging her to stop it because I was getting so dizzy. The next thing I knew, she was shaking me asking me if I was okay. My head had fell backwards and hit the wall. It was obvious I had passed out and she tried to tell me I fell asleep. Knowing I could not have fallen asleep under such a painful...
