Hello. My mother recently has a PM inserted. It seems to have located itself close to her armpit and is very uncomfortable. Does anyone know whether just the chamber/battery can be relocated!I think it’s gone in under the muscle as it’s hard to feel unlike mine which is above.

Hi
I have had a gastric pacemaker for 10 years now and at my last yearly dr. visit I was told that my battery is dead. Has anyone out there had their battery replaced? How intensive was the procedure? Any problems?
Thanks for your info

I went in Kaiser sunnyside mt. Talbert Clinic to be consulted for new leads for my pacemaker which was installed Nov 2016. Dr. Farnando Tondato was very informative and gave me options of the problem of bad insulation on the wires to upper and lower chambers. I choose to have the wires changed out 3 days later. I was then refered to Dr. Garvey of Providence St. Vencient , according to my acceasment at Kaiser my leads are in critical need of replacement which needs to be done ASAP. ...

Hi everyone!
My husband had a St. Jude's pacemaker placed August 1, 2017 due to bradycardia. Since getting pacemaker, Ive learned he has sick sinus syndrome, 2nd degree atrioventricular block, and pulmonary hypertension. He is 32 years old. This was a huge shock to us when he had to get one and we prayed, hoped it would be the answer to the sob, fatigue, dizziness and what not he was having. Fast forward to now, he had an echo done last week and his EP suggested he have...

Informative link on lead extraction. Good to see the high success rate when done by experienced specialists at clinics with the latest protocol.

I’m on my 4th pacemaker with 23 year old leads. It is a DDDR. The atrial lead usually paces 98% of the time until recently, as it is wearing out. Now the ventricular lead is taking over and it is extremely uncomfortable when it kicks in and I get very dizzy with chest pain and have to sit down until the atrial lead kicks in. I also feel very weak. My B/P also goes up 20 pts or so systolic. What can be done.

I had my PM installed about 3 months ago. The next day they thought that there might me a lead issue (it could slip out) and I went into the hospital to get this remedied. But the cardiac surgeon did a few more tests and decided that it was OK after all.
About 3 weeks ago I suddenly developed what seemed like heartburn. I had an EKG and it was OK.
The symptoms are strange - always, when heading out for a walk, after about 20 steps the “heartburn” starts. Th...

My pacemaker was put in on February 28, 2018. This week I developed Bronchitis and a painful, productive cough. When I cough, I feel sharp pains in the center of my chest and mid-heart location. Could my cough dismantle my leads ?

hi all. i had a remote interrogation which detected a couple episodes of "noise" in the, upper chamber but no arrythmias. they said it might have something to do with lead. pacing was greater than 99%. everything looked fine but they would watch it. instead of waiting for 3 month interrogation i asked for another in 1 month. comments please. thanks. i had crt- procedure in 2014.

Hi All,
I am 30 y/o and expecting my first child in November. At one of my recent PM checks, I was told that my leads are wearing out (15 y/o). I am hoping to get through my delivery without needing a lead replacement, but know that I will have a decision to make soon thereafter. I can either abandon my original leads and get a new system implanted or I can get a lead extraction and then get a new system implanted.
My EP already told me that I will need to go out of st...

Each time you have your device interrogated, how much battery life does it steal from pacing life. I assume there's an energy cost to transmitting the data. So how much does each transmission steal from pacing life? A day, a week, a month? I have my device read every 3 months. I assume any adustments also cost energy?

Hi All,
I got my first device when I was 7. Getting a new CR-T soon. My old leads (13+ years) still work but have caused SVC syndrome, blocking the veins.
Now I’m going to need stents, laser lead removal and then my new device. I’m in Chicago and my doc specializes in laser lead removal so I am in good hands, I hope. The last we spoke he said there’s no easy way forward due to potentially negative risk and they’ll need 3 teams to clear out the leads,...

I have a CRT-d (3 lead) pacemaker and about 3 years ago had a lead fracture. Due to limited space, a laser lead extraction was attempted but failed. After extensive bleeding, the surgery was abandoned and a replacement lead was successfully added. So I currently have three working leads and one non working lead. The newest lead is now beginning to fail (resistance has greatly increased).
Anyone out there have 5 or more leads? How did you get to that?

Hi, I'm Karin from Venezuela, ImI41 years old I just got my third pacemaker and as well as third pair of leads.
Does anyone has problems with breaking their leads? Mine take about 5 years to break and I'm not doing anything steange but going to the gym every now and then.
Sadly, doctor couldn't take the old leads out so now I have 3 pairs of leads.
I would appreciate any comments you may have. Thanks a lot.

I'm scheduled to get 3 wire pacemaker this week. I'm wondering if Surgeon will remove all wires and replace with new? Also wondering if 3 wire pacemaker batteries last as long as 2 wire?
I am still a little in shock from finding out after only 3 years I need a new improved pacemaker. I did not ask enough questions when told of the need to update.
You know you're wired when...
