very tired
Hi everyone, as the Christmas baking 'challenge' was going on (the marathon) type of cooking went rather well for me but then all of a sudden, it seemed that I got super tired.
I was taking a nap on Christmas morning after stuffing a turkey and being up way too late on Christmas Eve visiting and going to Christmas Eve services at two different churches.
When I realized that I overslept and was way late on starting a stock pot of soup for another family gathering on Christmas afternoon-...
Looking forward to a new year and feeling good:)
2 months ago I had to get a PM becuz of a slow heart beat
I am doing better..but there are still little quirky things going on
so let me ask all of you...once in awhile I get dizzy..once in awhile I get SOB...and once in awhile my legs get achy..and once in awhile my anxiety kicks in... when all these things
happen my pulse stays the same..but I still feel weird...last visit was in Nov 09 Dr put my settings for the high at 140 and for the low 50..the other day my pulse dropped to...
novice
Merry Christmas. (We had a white Christmas)
I'm a novice in here, bare with me please. Sadly my English isnt very good either. I have been reading your telling, and I must say Im very glad I found this place at the internet. Your telling has really helped me understanding things, accepting things, and learning. Thank you very much.
I would like to tell my story as well.
The last year I felt I was getting sick of stress. I could no longer control my blood sugar, I forgot both...
1 year out
Hi PM's, it will be 1 year on 31st Dec. All going well. My check ups seem OK but my BP was a bit up, new medication fixed that.
Happy Christmas to all and keep on pacing

I want my pacer moved
It's only been a couple months since my pacemaker upgrade (9-16-09) and subsequent atrial lead revision (9-25-09), but I'm wanting my pacemaker moved.
This pacemaker is a lot bigger than my first one, and the leads poke outward towards my arm. It's hard to forget that I have a pacer because it gets in the way all of the time. I feel it when I'm steering my car, lifting anything, stretching. ANYTHING. I can't even cough or sneeze into my arm as they say you should do without it pinching me...
finally right

Hi,
Just got my first PM (am in early 60s) Wednesday. Was bradycardia ("normal" pulse rate 45-50) but asymptomatic until Holter monitor showed sleeping rate low 30s and 3 second pause and my cardiologist said I need at PM.
So now for 2 days my pulse is near 80 and slept OK but how long does it take to get used to your new pulse rate? I'm aware of more heartbeats but did like my old slower pace also. Play tennis and did get rate up to 80 but now that's my new "normal". T...

Ok, my mind is playing tricks on me! I'm stressing a bit. My PM is ok, but we are still tweeking meds. When does this get better? My rate has been running 90-125. Besides my Inderal LA 120mg, I was just put on Digoxin to bring the tachy down. Anyone have any experience. All this constant change is stressing me out. I'm 3 weeks post-op. I guess I just wanted things to go more smoothly. Today frigtened me. My child brought me some kind of crud home. Just what I needed...fever, body aches and chill...

A Little Upset!!
Hi All,
I just need to vent my frustration, hope you don't mind.
It all started yesterday as i was having a bad day of Extra beats/PVC's.
I phoned my PM clinic to ask there advice on them as there really getting on my nerves now.
The phone was answered by a lady, and i asked if i could speak to the person ill usually deal with, (bearing in mind this was only my 5th call to them since April) so im not on at them much.
Anyway she said ill go f...
Surreal
Awaiting my PM implant on Thursday. The weirdest thing is that 99% of the tiime I feel perfectly fine. I only feel the pre-syncope when I exert myself. Having been a very active/athletic person most of my life, it is certainly strange, but reading all of the problems and life issues people have post implant makes me wonder if it is worth it. Maybe I should just slow down. Have others had this odd feeling of "why am I having this done?" even though you have been told you need to have it done...
Thanks ya'll
Thanks for listening to my rant yesterday about my pacer issues. Like all of us, it just gets hard sometimes. Some days worse than others. I know I need to give this pocket/pacer time to settle in, but I almost wish that something can be done about it before the year ends since I've met my deductible already. LOL.
When it comes down to it, it's just acceptance I guess, and I agree with Patch. I (as a petite individual) don't have a whole lot of options. Everytime I have a EP study/ ablation...
Ergh!
I have read everything relating to pacemaker pocket revisions by using the search option but I am still perplexed.
Any skinny gals out there have your pacemaker pocket revised? I wish that my pacemaker wasn't so close to my left arm joint. I felt my first pacer move around a lot with movement and it was prominent placed under my collar bone.
My second pacer is really becoming a bear to deal with, and it's made the coping that much harder. I can't help but think about having...

Hi,
I'm like some of you who have posted. I've been a runner for most of my life, and that's where I discovered the problem. Last year, on some days about half through my run, I would expeience some stomach discomfort and would feel a little weak. About a month ago I couldn't complete the run, and would have to go to a walk. I had set up a aopointment with my doctor, but on the advice of my fourth year medical student daughter who was doing a emergency room rotation at the hospita...
7 months in...
and I rarely think about my PM.
Yesterday, I hopped in the car and reached over to get my seatbelt and I brushed the edge of my PM while doing so. I had the strangest feeling, not angry but maybe resentful?
I have been feeling really positive for a long time - it was such an odd and overwhelming feeling. Doing much better today. Has anyone else ever had a similar experience after "doing good" for so long?
