hi im 19

hi.
im 19. a medical student. my pm is st Jude's n it's dual chamber. paced this month juz about 2 weeks ago. Went to see a doc after experiencing dizziness n fatigue for 3 weeks which was more frequent than before. i counted my pulse n it ws 40 sumthing. it ws bradycardia n so i decided to make an appointment. they said it's complete heart block. need to be paced. never thought dat i would have this..coz i never faint but had this fatigue since i was 16. . the doc said they didn't know the cause. big possibility it's congenital.watever it is i accept my fate. but my mom couldn't accept dat her daughther has a pm

my sis is also a med student. 4th year. she has explained a lot to my mom. i think the only reason is my mom is still in shock..ofcourse... i look very healthy..i can do anything ..any kind of sports wif no problem ... i can even run for a long distance..n not faint. n suddenly the doc said i hav a complete heart block n need a pm? even i was very shocked. i don't feel any great difference after this implantation anyway.maby the dizziness has gone. yeah. dat's the only difference. maby dat's why she can't accept it.

Hi i'm 24 I have had a pm since I was 21. My mom still is shocked today that I have a pm in me. It's a hard adjustment for a parent to look at there child and see this in discomfort. Give it time.
Your still healing and it will take time your first pm check will probably be when they change the settings so it will help you more. Give it time and give your body time to heal. If you have any questions please feel free to send me a message anytime.

i'm 25 and i got my pacemaker when i was 23. all of my life i would feel horrible. I was tired all the time, fatigue, dizzy spells and chest pains. my heart rate was always 4o. I went to the cardiologist and they told me that i need a pacemaker asap. the doctor put me on a heart monitor and the next day it showed that my heart stopped in the middle of the night for 3 seconds. so he told me i can't wait, i need to get one right now. my mom and i were crying so much. i was in shock. when i got the pacemaker i was so much better. i felt like a brand new person. i had more energy and i gained more weight. i'm feeling great and so much alive. constance

good 4 u

I am just thankful that I am alive and that even though I have this pacemaker it is not the end of the world.
