Stabbing pains

Hello everyone so I’m very new to all this I am 2 weeks post op having a icd/Pacemaker insertion and was wondering has anyone ever had a hematoma at there incision site? And how long were they in pain for not just uncomfortable bit actually in pain? And one more question has anyone had stabbing pain in there neck and above the incision site? I’m probably just being paranoid but I don’t see my EP until later this week and it’s making me nervous.

June newbie

Well, happy to still be here. I was having frequent dizziness and occasional slight pinching at the right side of the heart. My PA had me wear the ZIO patch, (an exterior heart monitor), for almost 14 days. A couple days after mailing in the patch for evaluation,  the results came in. 3 times in 8 days my heart had stopped while sleeping. The maximum stoppage was 10.7 seconds. Pacemaker

I had my pacemaker surgery 19 days ago. Last week had flutters and short of breath for 3 days. For 4 days now the flutters are almost gone and my breathing is ok. I feel  too tired , lightheaded.  Is it normal? Going to see the doctor’s assistant  tomorrow. Anyone with the same experiencies?

Glad to have found this forum.  I had bradycardia following svt ablation on 5/30.  Wiped out my SA node and was in complete heart block.  Just had my pacemaker surgery a few days ago.  Already feeling better.

Surprised, Amazed, and Grateful ( I think) Pacer Newbie

CRT seems is pacing me 100 bpm

3 weeks in. HR is between 85 an 115 bpm since two-week interrogation. Puzzled. Doc says may need tweaking, but he did not tweak it! They are trying to make the two walls of left ventricle squeeze, it seems. But the speed selected probably suggests low volume of stroke, incomplete emptying prior to squeeze, or sluggish response on the part of heart muscle. Kinda wish I knew! Of course, improvement is typically gradual for this kind of sickness.

New Pacemaker Question

Hi there! I'm scheduled to receive my first pacemaker this coming Friday. I had an ablation for AVNRT in December. The procedure didn't work and caused heart block (Wenckebach/Mobitz). I wasn't expecting the symptoms I have been experiencing for the last 7 months since the surgery (SVT, skipped beats, fatigue). I was told that I would feel "great" after my ablation. Pain dull ache & depressed

New Pacemaker

Hi first post. 54 year old male, very active and fit, history of SVT for the last couple of years. Had my second ablation on May 22 that left me with second degree heart block. Spent a 1.5 week with very low heart rate (20 at night to 40 during the day), finally got my dual chamber Boston Scientific pacemaker last night.

Feel pacemaker kick in when lay down

I'm 32 year old guy. Got my PM bc of bradycardia/syncope. I had a dual chamber PM inserted 3 weeks ago. I've had 3 EP visits to adjust my settings (which have helped a LOT!). They've made a lot of adjustments and have turned my voltage down. But I still can feel it kicking in when I do 3 things:

1) Lay down on my back (about 30 seconds of completely feeling the PM kick in)

2) Crouch down (think tying shoes crouching to look at a lower cabinet, etc.)

New to the group

This is probably the most exclusive group I’ve ever joined. I will have a pacemaker implanted next month. At 72, I’ve always been extremely active and   have no symptoms except fluttering occasionally. I had a Holter monitor and was diagnosed with sick sinus syndrome. I just returned home from hospital after having my Biotronik dual valve pacemaker installed. Surgery went well I think it took about two hours and they ended up putting me completely out. skin peeling?

I am a little over three weeks from the redo surgery of my second battery.  About an inch below the incision, my skin is flaking off almost like a snake skin.  It is not red or irritated.  It is about two inches wide and four inches long.   It's almost like super dry skin and it feels like a sunburn to the touch.  Anyone else have this happen?  They said no lotions, but it isn't at the incision site.  Any suggestions would be helpful.

Scar sensitivity

I had my first pacemaker placed at the end of February. I had issues with the scar completely healing due to a stitch knot preventing a small area from closing. It has been completely healed for a few weeks now but the scar is very sensitive. If I accidentally hit it it is pretty painful. Is this something that will decrease over time or should I expect to always have sensitivity in that area? Skin Rash During Recovery?

Has anyone else been beset with an upper torso skin rash immediately after a PM implant?

I've actually had two implant ops, a week apart due to the first right atrial lead dislodging and pacing my diaphragm. Heart wise, Take 2 seems to be doing splendidly. But after this one I've had a spreading rash accross my upper torso including areas that no tape had touched.

New pacemaker

Hi ,i have just had a pace maker fitted and was told to limit left arm movement for three weeks but i see that some on the forum have been told six weeks. Does anyone know why the difference. By the way it’s easy to forget and raise the arm above the head eg dressing etc, so i use a trouser belt around the torso and upper arm which allows me to use my forearm but not my upper arm. Looking forward to your input.

Hi I have had a pacemaker inserted on weds for complete heart block. I am just wondering about how careful everyone was able to be post op. I am not to lift my arm for 2 months, to lift anything heavy or lie on that side (to ensure the leads have chance to bed in) however I am only 46 with two young children.
