I am a little over three weeks from the redo surgery of my second battery. About an inch below the incision, my skin is flaking off almost like a snake skin. It is not red or irritated. It is about two inches wide and four inches long. It's almost like super dry skin and it feels like a sunburn to the touch. Anyone else have this happen? They said no lotions, but it isn't at the incision site. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I had spray skin plaster which acts and looks like peeling skin but is plastic stuff. Worked really well.
Thanks

I had it checked today. You were right. Reaction to bandage adhesive and they said I may put something on it because it was well below the incision.
Reaction to steri-strips

After I got the staples out from recent pacer replacement, my doctor used adhesive steri-strips to hold the incision together. I had a violent reaction with itching and oozing around the closed incision. Nasty and highly uncomfortable! The skin peeled like you describe. No more latex or adhesive for me !

When in doubt ask them to take a quick look at it. Is it possible you reacted to the dressing they used? As long as you don't put anything right on the incision yet, it's ok to put something near it. I would stick to something all natural, no chemicals or preservatives. Vitamin e, cocoa butter, aloe
