I am wondering if anyone has had any issues from having Co-Vid.
After getting vaccinations religiously, wearing mask and staying out of crowds, I ended up getting Covid for Christmas this year, which I of course ended up sharing with my husband. Started Dec 23 and I am just about done now, but still testing positive.
I have a CRT Pacemaker, 4 1/2 years with this one. In the past four or five days I have been feeling some butterflies in my chest that...
CRT-D vs ICD decision
my father's lvef of 20-25%, got stented in 2017 after a heart attack. last week he had an episode of VT/VF. he is currently on meds on)
one doc suggested CRT-D implantation, other suggested ICD. the second one is a better doc overall.
I asked his assistant is that why not CRTD, she said they will do tests on admission to determine whats best for the patient (crtd or icd)
the admission and surgery is scheduled for monday by the second doc, I am worried that the doc will n...

My hospital cancel contract Biotronik pacemakers, I had two of these, all good.
My pacemaker technician say next one is choice of Boston Scientific, Abbott or Medtronik. I have now CRT pacemaker Eluna Biotronik since 2014.
Any idea which one to choose for my 3rd pacemaker replacement?

Have had a 2 lead Boston Scientific PM for 8+ years now.
Ongoing problems with my bladder and constipation have my Dr askling if I want a referral for an Interstim device.
Anyone with a PM get one or been evaluated for one? If so, were there any concerns over interference with your PM?
TIA!

I'm looking for a new cell phone. I have an older iPhone but it has never sent a transmission when I've had a bounding arrhythmia.I was looking at the IPhone 14s but it seems like they have a strong magnet on the back and we are asked to keep magnets away from the pacemaker. Do any of you pacemaker people have an iPhone 14 or 15 and does it interfer with your pacemaker ?
Has anyone else had problems with their phone not transmitting arrhythmias ? I'm wondering if the pr...

Hi, Wondering if this is a normal thing.
I woke up lying on my side as usual and I stretched my arm up and notice my PM was up on its side. Totally freaked me out and made it a very restless night the next night.

I just had my pacemaker checked remotely. The title said "abnormal." Then I downloaded the 2 tests. I'm 84 years old, and I have total heart block. Two months ago I had a heart attack with 90% blockage in one artery. The others were clear. My problem:
1. i contacted the physician but I doubt I'll hearing from anyone in their office in the near future.
2. I cannot read the test and I can't tell what is abnormal.
3. My question: Is it normal to be "a...

So I wore a heart monitor for two weeks and during that time had two heart pauses that lasted about 6 seconds each. I was slightly dizzy on one of those incedents but it passed quickly. The cardiologist claims I have sick sinus syndrom and wants to implant a pacemaker. I am not really sure if this is necessary and unsure whether to go forward with it. If I knew this was a persistant problem I would do it but I am not convinced, thinking that it may not happen again. It scares me that he said...

Hello everyone,
I am a career- paid firefighter. I have a genetic gene (long story) but did a blood test and confirms I have a gene that causes hypertrophic cardiomyopathy of the left ventrical. I am 39 and will be getting an ICD placed asap due to 20-25% scarring in my left ventricle.
I am worried that my administration and city admin will not let me return to work. On that note, I cannot find any law that says I have to tell them and or them not allowing me bac...

Looks as though another problem has developed with Medtronic MyCareLink home monitor.
This is type with hand held chest reader.
Display lit up, been on for too long now.
All three LEDs on the reader flashing. No idea what's wrong.
This is the second unit gone on the blink.
If it doesn't stop flashing, I'll pull the plug on it to see if it fixes it.
That's two problems in the space of three years. Not impressed.
Can the doctor adjust my pacemaker for this?

With regular activities and work, etc, I feel great with more energy etc. My pulse range was 40-60 and now it is 60-80.
My issue is that if I quickly pick up my pace walking in a hurry, or climb steps, or lift something with my other side arm like a suitcase and carry it that I get winded to the point that others notice and comment.
Sometimes it seems if I get anxiety that it impacts my breathing too a little.
After being winded, it goes back to normal if I...

I am attaching the cardiologists notes for clarification

HISTORY
In 1997 they put in a single chamber pacemaker due to a tick byte. I had third degree heartblock. Initially my pacemaker was pacing 77% of the time and went down to 1%. I was in great shape...execizing and no issues

While on vacation this summer, I went go karting. I loved this as a young boy and thought it would be fun racing my wife and friends around the track. I was suprised that the motor really interfered with my pacemaker. It felt like I was at the pacemaker clinic when they test your device, but for a longer duration of time. My heart rate dropped and skipped some beats. It was a really strange feeling that stopeed as soon as I hopped out of the ka...

I just had a new PM put in after 10 years as my battery life ran out. I have a Medtroic Azure XT and I bascally pace 90+ % of the time in the atrium but at my first check up I was pacing 25% of the time in my ventricle so they made a slight change to my settings. I am pacing a little fast but I feel my heartbeat in my armpit , not always , but enough to be annoying and with no rhyme or reason. Originally I thought it was happeneing mostly when I woke up but now it seems to be more random any...

My daughter is 15 and will be having surgery in a couple days to implant a pace maker. This is all very sudden for all of us and Im trying to learn as much as possible in a short time.
She was diagnosed with third degree heart block last year after having Covid. She has always had a normal heart rate in the past and now has complete heart block and her resting heart rate stays in the low 60’s. At that time she was not experiencing any heart related sy...

Neurological symptoms after pacemaker insertion?
Hi guys,
Going through a tough time with symptoms nearly 3 months after 2-lead PM insertion and would love to know if anyone has gone through anything similar.
I'm a pretty healthy 57 year old. I was diagnosed with permanent A-Fib in the summer, and two months later had a successful Cardioversion which restored my natural rhythm but unfortunately led to bradychardia and HR in the low 40s. After admission to hospital, and while still taking bisoprolol and amiodarone...
Multiple Questions
Hello everyone
I am finding this site an amazing source of information and reassurance. I have now had my PM for just ovr 2 weeks and have already had it reset twice - initially DDD but now in VVI mode because I had a lot of ectopics and the PM would fire off causing uncomfortable sensations in my chest. I am now symptom free but have been left in a rather anxious state generally and finding new things to worry about!
The first relates to how much activity I can d...
