Taking care link abroad

Hi,

Im going abroad in a week to a quiet island in Greece. There’s no real hospital or anything there, if you’re sick it means travelling back to Rhodes. Little dizzy really noticeable when sitting straight and feelling tired

Asymptomatic

I don’t have any symptoms except for 2 instances when I felt a bit dizzy. However, I’ve been diagnosed with sick sinus syndrome and have both bradycardia and tachycardia indicated by a Holter. I have a smart bracelet that vibrates when my heart rate exceeds 100. Some days it vibrates only twice in one day, other days more frequently but goes back down immediately. Do you pack your home monitor in your suitcase or your carry-on?

I'm going out of town for the first time since getting a biventricular pacemaker.  I'm trying to decide between packing my home monitor in my suitcase or my carry-on.  I'm leaning towards taking it in my carry-on, but it's pretty bulky, especially if I bring it in its box, and I don't want to have one more thing to deal with at the security screening.

IRHB with pacemaker dependence

I had AV node ablation and I am pacemaker dependent. My pacemaker is dual chamber. I have prolonged periods of irregular heatbeat. I understand that my atrial  tachycardia persists, but I thought the pacemaker was supposed to keep my heartbeat regular. Any insights?

Summer bathing suit or cover up with biventricular ICD implanted

I had a biventricular ICD implanted 2 weeks ago. I knew there was going to be a scar an a slight prteusion but my device is large and is very noticeable. I’m a 67 y/o female and 108lbs with small frame. I’m vacationing on a beach and I’m at a loss how I can cover up most of my protrusion. I’m blessed and very thankful for this device as it truly saved my life. Any ideas would be helpful.

Simple and safe to use

Hello Friends, I am Tamilian, 75,  just joined the club. Hope U R all doing well. I got my PM done on 5/28/19 and the Dr.put me on Paradaxa 150 mg twice a day. It is a blood thinner. Previously I have been getting occasional heavy nose bleeds and I never took any aspirin or other blood thinners. I am concerned about using such a heavy dose of Paradaxa daily as it may cause sudden heavy nose bleeds. Does anyone has similar situation, is there a less dosage. My BP is normal. If the PM is c...

Relapse or Lead Dislodgement

Been posting and responding quiet frequently on here, but have a question on the after effects of surgery. I am on my 2nd devise. First was a dual chamber PM, and I had that for only 3 years. Now I have a BV / ICD and am on CRT continuosly. Was feeling pretty good until this morning when I almost blacked out at work. Palpatations

I had a St. Jude CRT-P implanted :March 2019. I’ve felt so much better. However about a week ago I started having occasional palpitations and shortness of breath.  No where as severe as prior to pacer. Is this unusual and should I be concerned?

Pacemaker with CHF

Most all warning signs regarding CHF are weight gain and edema.  While cruzing the 'net this AM, I stumbled across info that no one else (including Doctors) has broached before: Weight loss with heart failure. A BAD, BAD thing!  Generally indicates the G.I. tract isn't getting the oxygenated blood flow that it requires to process the vitamins and minerals out of what one eats. Ones future with this condition is grim.

Recent CRT-D implant and worried about visible lead

I am 5 weeks out from a CRT-D implant, and for the most part I am doing ok.  The incision area still hurts, especially with my bra strap rubbing against it, but hopefully that will go away with time.

My biggest concern is the lead that I can clearly see and feel right under the bottom of my incision. It sticks right out like a swollen vein. Its very close to my armpit, so every time I move my left arm it seems like the lead will just pop right thru my skin.  I'm worri...

 I have had my pacemaker for almost 2 weeks now. I am so so very sorry I had this put in. They said it would give me more energy to make me feel better but it’s not true. Pipe organs & PM's
