Hey all. I am having tenderness over the actual pm not specific to incision but over where the actual pm is which was inserted under muscle below left clavicle. It has been just over three weeks. I’m wondering if this is normal or a variation of normal. The wound looks clear dry no redness ooze or weeping. I do get some shoulder pain now and again during the day but it is tolerable and not continuous, I’m assuming it is just nerve pain from the incision and placement of a foreign...

About how long does it take to begin to feel like yourself again? I am 14 days post op. I need to go back to teaching in January. I am also flying in one week. Still feel tired and want some energy back. Am I being impatient. BP and heart rate areok. Had my checkup and all is good and I am adjusted to 60 heart rate. Doc said it may be the meds I am still currently taking. Any comments welcomed.

Hi everyone, I am just 2 weeks out from my PM surgery. I have a dual lead Biotronik. I noticed an immediate difference when i woke up. But i am still getting tired easily. I dont know if its just from the surgery itself or if my PM still needs some tweaking. I am also having sharp stabbing pains under my left breast. They last sometimes seconds. And sometimes they last minutes. Like tonight it has kept me up till 3:36 am. Is it part of the healing process? Has anyone experienced this before?...

Hi All,
I’ve had a pacemaker for 51/2 years for complete heartblock. Went in for 6 month check recently to find that I have a damaged atrial lead and that it needs replacing. The doctor suggested that in addition to replacing the damaged lead that a 3rd lead could be put in the left ventricle as a long term strategy to reduce the possibility of heart failure down the road.
I’m wondering if people have had any experience with biventricular pacing an...

I went to the device clinic today - I had noticed some "effort" in my chest when I would initially start walking. She adjusted it and I walked around and it was fine. Since I got to work, I am noticing that when I bend forward, or crouch down, I feel that "effort" feeling, almost like my heart is too big. I'm not feeling short of breath and I'm not dizzy. I'm going to call the nurse, but I wondered if anyone had any thoughts... Tha...

Hi, folks -
I had an icd installed 7 months ago. I got a double-whack cardioversion about a month later to get Afib under control. No help.
Then assorted blood scans, TEE and cardiac ablation. Dr said all blood vessels were clear. “I didn’t see one crumb!”
Now I’m scheduled for a cardioversion the end of this week. If my icd scan shows no Afib, the nurse says, the cardioversion will be called off!
Is there any precedent to this? I som...

Hi there
I am wondering if anyone can help me.
I had a biotronik PM placed about 4 weeks ago due to ablation /avrnt problem from 2012.
Ive had a few issues which I’ve mentioned on here, but my biggest problem has been tiredness and especially ectopics on exercise- which I didnt have before PM placement.
As soon as my heart rate reaches about 110 my heart has a string of multiple ectopics which makes me stop in my tracks and cough. Also in recovery it does this fo...

Has anyone used one of those scar fading gel/topicals? My husband's client makes one of these products and he sent me a tube along with a silicone strip to use to help flatten the scar. Apparently, the owner had an emergency PM implant a year ago and he used his own product! Worked well. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Doctor thought and treated for heart attack then discovered heart block and pacemaker fitted 6 weeks ago. No issues before. Never before but now frequently got blue lips and people commenting on it. Thought pm kept heart pumping therefore blood flowing so what's going on with lips ??

For those of you who have received a pacemaker to treat vasovagal syncope, I am curious how you and your physician reached the decision to pace. I have been experiencing syncopal episodes (some with a clear, pain-related trigger, and others with no apparent trigger) for the past 5 years and I have tried lifestyle measures, as well as two medications, with limited success. I have hit my head quite hard on multiple occasions and I am growing concerned about the possibility of serious injury, gi...

Rush to hospital with complete cardiac workups and tests without any firm diagnosis. Wore heart montor for 30 days without recording significant event. Experienced signifant anxiety over syncope reoccurrence. (Kind of l...

Hi there. I have a dual chamber MEDTRONIC Pm. I possibly might need surgery, however not anything related to my heart. My question is will they need to switch off my Pm for the duration of the surgery? Is it necessary? I look forward to some feedback. Thank you.

I'm 35 and got my pacemaker a little over a year ago. It definitely is not a burden to me. In fact, I have more energy (which my husband enjoys), can do more things with my kids and have weight because of having the energy.
