I’m in my 6th week post procedure for pacemaker implant. First week getting use to the bump under my collarbone and dressing that was on site. After 7 days removed dressing and saw the new cut and lump of my new electrical friend. The site is really sore and you’ll learn to protect it. After the 2nd week was given permission to drive, all was good except the seat belt was riding on top of surgical site. Did not feel good. After 5th week I have started to lift weight...

Hello. about 1 1/2 months ago I got a pacemaker. I have healed well. I noticed about 2 in apart i have 2 things protruding from my chest. they look like wires to me or string? just enough is out. they are perfectly the same. :/ I do not know what they are or what to do. I just noticed them shiny in the mirror reflection when brushing teeth :/

I have had bradycardia for at least five years. Exercise HR did not get out of the 120s. In October 2017, I was hospitalized with Anaplasmosis, the other tick disease. My blood was a mess and I have been anemic ever since. All last year, I was thinking the anemia was the cause of my symptoms of exercise fatigue, pre-synchope and rapidly deteriorating performance levels. I have read that Lyme can affect the heart’s electrical system. I believe the I have had sick sinus syndrome for a whi...

My husband has informed me that the only solution for his low heart rate is a pacemaker. He has thus far refused to get one as he is of the impression that he will have to find a new career ( not an easy undertaking at 60 ) He is a welder by trade and personal experience told me a long time ago that that was a no-no. Since having my old unit replacec I donèt seem to have an issue with my ICD. I am wondering if there are people out there with pacemakers that are welders and if so what (...

Hi PM Clubbies
I have a PM to treat type 2 heart block (Mobitz T2).
I have had the PM for a bit over 2 years. Initial pacing was 11% and it gradually increased to about 44%.
The latest remote transmission stated that it had dropped to <1%. I have no idea how this is possible. It is fantastic news for me as it is accompanied by great general wellbeing, increased energy and fitness levels. My Apple Watch is also telling me that my heart rate during exercise has droppe...

Hi! I am a 22 year old female diagnosed with “autonomic dysfunction”, for lack of a better term for my symptoms. For years I’ve been lightheaded, bradycardic (normal hr for me is about 35-45), and low BP, as well as the onset of Raynaud’s phenomenon. I’ve been dismissed by about 7 different doctors, and told I was making up the severity my symptoms. I finally got a new cardiologist to do a tilt table, where I went into asystole for 13 seconds- and...

Got pm two weeks ago. For the last several days my arms have felt weird like I have a tourniquet or blood pressure cuff on them (best I can describe) and my left arm is a slightly different color than my right. Could this be nerve related or blood clot or what? It isn't painful but annoyng.

I just got a pacemaker 3 weeks ago. I had an episode of TGA (Transient Global Anemia) where I came home from Pilates class and couldn't remember where I'd been or how I got home. I husband took me to the ER, thinking I might have had a stroke. They ran a bunch of tests and everything came out normal but they kept me overnight for observation. The next morning as I was lying in bed texting my family, I apparently passed out and came to with a room full of people acting very concerned....

Hello all.... I always appreciate the kindess and feedback of this group.
Here goes.... I have a St. Jude, I know they have been sold out. I beleive I am being switched to a different maker for a few simple reasons.... longer life battery and a thinner profile of unit. I can't remember the new maker, maybe boston scientific? Medtronic bought out St. Jude correct? Any thoughts???? Thank you!

I was told in December 2017 I needed a pacemaker due to low heart-rate (33 bpm resting heart rate) and, after I wore a halter, it was found that my heart stops at night for about 5 seconds about 3 times during the night. After being told that, I ran 91 races - mostly 5Ks - in 2018, finishing my last 5K for this year on Dec 24 in 35:15. I have spinal arthritis, so I do 8 min run/2 min walk when I do these races and when I do my training runs, and I don't do distance running any...

Hi
I'm 41 yrs old and I've had my pm for nearly 3 yrs now. Taking apixaban as well.
Problem is that I suffer from chronic back pain but no one seems to be able to give a definitive answer as to what pain relief I can take..
I used to use diclofenac based creams but I've been told these are a no go now. What else is available.
Anyone got any suggestions?
Thanks v much

Hi. Its been forever scince I post anything here but I kinda wanted to put an update. Its been 8 months scince my pm implant. The first 4 where basically a nightmere for me. I ended up in the hospital once and they had to do some adjustments on the pm settings. All the way until Sep. I was feeling weird chest discomforts and some light headedness every now and then. From mid Sep forward its beed much better. I found I have more energy and I even started doing some exercise 2 or 3 times a week...
