Yes, it's perfectly safe to use them. They may or may not work for you. Sometimes it will count the pacer signal as well as the beats, so your count will be high. Other times, the pm will interfere with the monitor and the monitor will give no reading. Some members have had more luck than others.

My EP said it was ok

I use the Polar FT7 and have not had any problems. My EP said it was ok to use.

Thanks for the quick response. Can't believe I didnt think of coming here for the answers alot sooner. I have been goingin circles waiting on replies from Sept. 2009 and it just hit me to use this medium and got an answer in a few minutes. I have learnt so much more from this site than from doctors etc. Thanks for the support guys.

Pacemakers & HRM's

Hi ... as the others have said ... there should be no interference between your pacemaker and one of these HRM's ... many pacemaker patients use them in their exercise regimes without any pacemaker related problems ... the problems are more to do with finding a HRM that is reliable and just what you desire ... skin contact with the chest electrodes always seems to be a bugbear ... plus find one that is coded ... because you don't want to be displaying someone elses heart rate on your wrist watch which is what can happen !
