re:reassurance (again)!

Hi to Wingart and Cabgpatch! Nice to hear from you. Feeling much less anxious (probably helped by coupla glasses wine last night). It's very reassuring to know that there are so many people out there who understand how you are feelig.
One question; when any of you feel the thudding in your chest, is it a grdular beat or a bit irregular or "flippy-floppy" feeling?
Also do any of you brits know where to get a pacemaker wristband or locket from that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I know that there is a shop on this site which I would use, but there doesn't seem to ba a facility to pay by credit card.
Thanx.

Hope things are going well for you with your new pm.

I experience bumps and thuds in my chest and have done since my ICD/pm implant 4 years ago. I don't worry about it as I think it might just be a combination of palpitations or pm kicking in. Perhaps I should ask about it, but if you are worried then I would certainly speak to your cardio or technicians. I'm sure they will be able to set your mind at rest.

I have worn a bracelet since my implant. I got it from MedicAlert and bought it on line. My details are registered with them and if I'm in need of medical attention anywhere in the world all the info is available, condition, cardiologist, hospital, medication, next of kin and so on. Have alook at their website - they have many designs of varying cost.

Where do you live in England? I'm in Somerset.

Good luck to you.

SOS bracelet

Just google SOS bracelets, there are loads of people selling them. I got a cheap stainless steel one for about £15, been wearing it all the time for 5 months, still fine.

The good thing about these is that you can change the info in the capsule, so, for example, if im abroad I put the name of my hotel, my holiday insurance details, etc. I did take it off for swimming though,

You know you're wired when...

I finished 29th in London in 2 hours 20 minutes 30 seconds which is my fastest with or without a device so clearly it didn’t slow me down ! I had no problems apart from some slight chaffing on my scar - more Vaseline next time.
