Naps are Very Short Now....

I'm 4 wks post pm surgery, dual pacemaker for heart pauses.
My low is set for 60 BPM. I normally have very low blood pressure, esp while sleeping.
I notice when I do get tired and need a nap, I can only nap for 15 or 20 mins. Usually my naps would be at least 40 minutes.

Anyone else experience sleep being interupted at night or during naps since having a pm?

Thanks for all your support these past 4 weeks. I feel much better and not so worried any longer.

Short naps

Most likely you are just a lot more energetic now that your ticker is putting out enough blood flow. I found the same thing after my implant.

It's possible that 60BPM is too fast for you at night. Most pacers have a night setting that can lower your HR a bit more while you sleep. Or just set the lower limit down to 55.

The other thing that can wake you up at night is the pacemaker going through its calibration routine. It does somewhat the same thing as an office checkup which involves running your HR up to 85-100 for a few minutes. It can be programmed to do the test in the day time if it interferes with sleep. I never notice it unless I get up for a bathroom visit around 3:00AM and happen to catch it doing its thing.

Glad all is going well.
