Hi there,
You've all been so helpful in the past I hope you don't mind me posting again. I have dual chamber pacemaker inserted December 08 which has impedance in atrial lead.
For the past few days I've had intermittent sharp chest pain- slightly left of mid central, accompanying this I've been feeling really tired, breathless when doing anything and generally just yuck (although feeling better today with less chest pain). The chest pain isn't really bothering me- I have complex CHD and have had chest pain before when and after I had pacemaker inserted.
What is bothering me is the pain and numbness I have down my left arm. The pain is all around my shoulder, my muscle in the top of my arm is sore and my arm feels numb- although I can use it fine.
My family Doctor is jumping up and down about my symptoms although my congenital heart Doctor is very relaxed and will see me on Monday if I feel the need.
Thoughts? I don't feel terrible, but I don't feel right. Really appreciate any comments. I'm in Scotland :-)
Regards
Vicki

If your doc's have ruled out any

heart problem as cause, I would ask ( besides what Pookie recommends ) that they get someone to look at your neck. You may have to see a Neurologist for this.
Best of luck sorting this out & hope its fast,
Janet
shoulder/arm/hand pain

I have this as well,my left shoulder is really painful and it seems that i am losing muscle there as well,I also get a numb hand at nights[cardio doc says that is "capula".
also during my procedure they punctured an artery and that had to be repaired as an emergency, leaving me with my pacemaker on the right of my chest.

I haven't had your problems, but as a "fellow Scot" kind of I just want to wish you well. Please keep this group posted on your problems and if all does go well. I was not born in Scotland, but to two Scots from Aberdeen and Rosehearty. Went for two visits and loved them both. Love the country and the people. Ann

Yesterday was my first day mountain biking after my implant. I wiped out several times and everything is fine. There are sports after pacemakers!
Just a suggestion....

but I would be asking your family doctor or your cardiologist for an ultrasound and/or a CT scan of your shoulder.
Scotland is a beautiful place!!! I was there once, back in 1986 - in Kirkcaldy:)
Take care,
Pookie
