I've had my pm for 10 days now. When I woke up from surgery, it hurt to breath and I'm feeling that again now. I'm going to take some pain pills, but I'm wondering if other people have experienced this as well.

GO!
by Tracey_E - 2009-02-02 09:02:28
Just in case the others didn't say it loudly enough... go to the er tonight!!!! Better to go and find out it's nothing than to ignore it when it *is* something.
And when you get home, check in and let us know you're ok. Sending hugs and prayers.
rash?

If the rash is worse and you're having trouble breathing, get to the ER.
Hard to breath, how? Like you can't take a deep breath, or you can but it hurts, short of breath, or....? I'd call the dr tomorrow and ask. It's possible it's just bruising healing or they hit a nerve but it's bad enough to take a pain pill, it's worth a call to make sure everything is ok.
pain in my back and chest

The rash is better. I'm having some spams in my back when I breath. Could I be having a panic attack? I'm trying to breath in through my nose and out of my mouth. Seems to be helping a little. Chest hurts too.
Pain breathing...

I suggest you get it checked out. You shouldn't be hurting with simple breathing.... Could be stress, an injury or something else. Go and have it checked. PLEASE!!!

Breathing Problems
by Pookie - 2009-02-02 09:02:54
Hi.
My advice...get to the ER...some people can develop percarditis after getting a pacemaker...I did.
Don't let something like this get out of hand...get your butt to the ER for peace of mind at least.
Keep us posted.

go!

This happened to me..... within minutes of me coming out of surgery and sitting up in bed I couldnt breathe. Despite them sitting me up...... They thought I had a bleed somewhere and did an emergency x-ray...... they couldn't find anything but kept me on oxygen for 12 hours where it eased off.
The fact you are still in pain does not sound good. Definately get it checked!

Wow, this group can get results.
I also agree it needs checking out.

You know you're wired when...
You prefer rechargeable batteries.

A properly implanted and adjusted pacemaker will not even be noticeable after you get over the surgery.
It's hard to get a deep breath

Sort of short of breath too. They gave me morphine when I was in the hospital.
