Can someone help?

I'm probably just being an overly paranoid mom, but it never hurts to ask questions....right?

My daughter, Olivia, is 7yrs old and had a pacemaker implanted 3 wks ago for High Grade AV block. Her & her sister got into a scuffle this afternoon and she was fine afterward, but a few hours later started complaining of pain in the pacemaker/incision area. When I lifted her shirt, there were dark veins visible surrounding the area - that have never been visible before. She had no other visible veins on the rest of her chest, just around the pacemaker, and they hadn't been there just hours earlier.

I checked her BP and HR - both were fine, so we monitored her. A short time later, she wasn't having any more pain and while the veins lightened a bit, they are still there. I will, of course, call her cardio in the morning, but was hoping to hear some btdt tonight.

I have pics, if that would help.

TIA!

She's probably just fine but keep an eye on her for signs her hr drops, that's an indication the leads have been knocked out of place. I'd try a little ice on it and see how it looks tomorrow. And have a chat with the two of them!!! No scuffling for six weeks. ;o)

Kids will be kids, eh?

Guess I would error on the side of being safe and have it checked by the doc. I don't know what signs would be if the lead was knocked out of place, but I would want to be certain everything is ok.
Good luck and happy holidays

Sometimes a device must be tuned a few times before it is right. My cardiologist said it is like fine tuning a car.
