Hi Everyone,
Okay so here I go again only this time it's worse.
For the last week or two my heart rate has been elevated ranging between 103 & 125 with no exertion. I do have a few days where it is where it should be ( 70's & 80's) But what I can't figure out is that not only has it been elevated but it has been been accompanied I'm embarrassed to say by uncontrollable sweating. I don't even know if the two are related. It has been horrible.I have to shower 2 or 3 times a day. This has been going on for about a week. My question is is there anyone here that is on ToprolXL that has increased their dosage themselves to lower your rate without talking to the doctor first. I am on 50mg. Before I received my pm I was on 100mg. but for HBP along with Benicar HCT.
Any suggestion?

I have decided to hold off on the med increase. Back in March I went to the ER due to chest pain so had an EKG then along with lots of other tests. Everything pretty much came back normal. But this is driving me crazy! I am going to call my doctor in the morning. I am so glad that found a terrific doctor and clinic to go to. Austin isn't to far. About 40-50 minutes from me. I hope you have better results.
Keep me posted.

Thanks for the insight. It is a possibility. I have never had this problem before so this is really bothering me. I know what you mean about bradycardia. I already suffer from this so I guess it would just make it worse.
Guess maybe I will give my doc a call. This has been going on a little too long for my liking.

Sweating with elevated HR

The combination is an indication that your sympathetic nervous system is very active. This is one of the things that they watch on the lie detector test(not that you are lying). It also happens with anxiety. Some foods can bring it on too.
I would avoid trying to lower your HR with meds. If it is a temporary condition you could suddenly find yourself with bradycardia when it resolves.

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.

I would consult your doctor before making any adjustments in your medication. They need to get to the bottom of what is going on. Have you had an EKG lately? Hope you find out something soon!
Take care,
