Hi fellow pacers! A few nights ago I was asleep and I heard a noise, at first I thought it might have been my mobile or smoke alarm, but I swear it came from my pacemaker, is this possible?

maybe some sort of alert. I have read on here that some PM's do that altho mine does not (as far as I know) altho mine is 7+ yrs old & may be the newer ones do it. Also you could look up in the search area on top right & put in alarms & may get some hits on previous post. Let us know what you find out.
alarm

My medtronic has an alarm. If it detects certain problems it will alarm. For instance ayear or so ago mine had to pace me out of an episode, so it beeped at 5;00 pm every day until I got into office and the tech could reset it. If it detects a broken lead it is supposed to beep every 4 hours at 4,8. 12 etc. There are other things it will beep for, if it beeps the only way to know why is for the tech to read out the PM at the office or at home by the remote monitor.

Hi Kay, I didnt have an op, I think it was my interrogation that day, it went great thanks.
I've not been sending out any more strange signals, so perhaps I did dream it!!
Thanks to those who replied.

You know you're wired when...
You need to be re-booted each morning.

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
caro you always make me laugh!!!

It wasnt really like a fire alarm! lol. It was a sort of double beep, almost like a front door bell.
