At the gym post-implant...

So I got back on the treadmill this week, what, 3 weeks post implant of my PM? So I'm feeling like I should have gotten it a long time ago! I'm feeling great - more like I HAD a heart condition - can do so much more than before. So even though I was "asymptomatic" maybe I really wasn't. I guess tired and sluggish can creep up on you over time and you don't even realize it. You write it off to being fat, lazy, mom of two who works full time. But it is obvious there was something going on there. Anyway, for anyone questioning the whole business, now that it's done I feel like it was not nearly so big a deal and well worth doing.

Kind of like getting an old car that has been missing on 2 cylinders fixed. You don't know what you have been missing. Now you have a heart that is hitting on all 4 chambers.

That is so good to hear!!! I'm glad you're feeling so much better. I also found that my loss of energy was so gradual that I had no idea how bad it was until I felt better again.

Me, too !

See my post from last night ("Resuming Running @ 57 Years") It's been 4 weeks ago today since my implant. Although I was very aware of how my running performance had deteriorated, it's only been since I got my pm that I realize that I had also been generally tired and sluggish. I worked in the yard last week, doing all the stuff that I had somewhat neglected throughout the Fall and I didn't quit working until there just wasn't any more daylight. As I described it to my wife last week after a run, I'm getting my heart rate up (120-130), and I'm breathing deeply, but it's the "satisfying" kind of breathing such that you know the heart, lungs and everything else are doing what they're supposed to do. It's so good to hear of similar good experiences like yours.
