Pain From Pacemakeri

I say what you need is another doctor. A pacemaker should not cause pain no matter which ventricle the leads are located in if the pacemaker settings are correct for you. If you doubt my word about having pain caused by a pacemaker check with the manufacturer. They will tell you all the wonderful things a pacemaker can do for a person but at no time will they say their pacemaker may be painful. All information I have read regarding pain from pacemakers refers to the pain that sometimes accompanies the surgery.

I've got a dual pacemaker as well

I've had my pm for just over a month. I've had some chest pain, but nothing more than I had before I had surgery, in fact probably less.

Maybe ElectricFrank or BillMFI might be able to give you some good advice.

In the mean time, don't panic....I'm sure it will get better. Take your doctor's advice if it doesn't get better.

Take care,

Debbie

But you haven't given enough info for anybody to be specific. You should have had a pacer check by now. And unless the data showed a problem with your leads you shouldn't be having pain. Also your ECG must show a normal rhythm or your Cardiologist would be running more tests. Did your cardiologist rule out angina? What percentage of time are you pacing in your right ventricle? Right V being more sensitive is a new one to me. Other issues like a GI problem, a fluid build up or infection can cause chest pain too. I'd want a very thorough work up including a chest scan to rule out other issues before changing leads.

I finished 29th in London in 2 hours 20 minutes 30 seconds which is my fastest with or without a device so clearly it didn’t slow me down ! I had no problems apart from some slight chaffing on my scar - more Vaseline next time.
