Hi all,
for a good few years now I've been into judo as my main sport and stress relief. I've recently had a pacemaker fitted (last week) and after speaking to my sensei (instructor) it's been suggested I wear some kind of protection when I'm training. I've looked at the sporting wear web sites and e-mailed a few of them asking if they do anything that might offer some kind of protection - none really came up with anything of any use. If anyone has anything that would fit the bill or can point me in the right direction I'd be immensely grateful.
Thanks all.

Thanks to Lotti and Adrenaline for your comments. I'll have a look at the Tae Kwon Do sparring vest when I can find it. In the mean time I contacted Proline-Sports in Cardiff and they have offered to add a guard over my device and leads in one of their chest guards. I'll keep looking for other things but this seems to fit my bill. It just goes to show that there are still companies out there prepared to help one person when bigger companies just can't be bothered.
Cheers all!!

See what happens when you ask?! I just do it and tell the doctor about it later. Hasn't gotten me into too much trouble so far. A lot of eye rolls and a few "you did WHAT" but no serious trouble. :o)
My kids both cheer and I've never heard of a cheerleading vest. They kick each other learning new stunts and they fall a lot, but I've never heard of them padding the chest. Odd.

Also it would be better than any protector for high impact sports as its designed for sport impact dispersion.. www.evoshield-ireland.com (copy and paste)

I do Tae Kwon Do and my instructor has advised a lightweight sparring vest. In Tae Kwon Do the vests come in 2 weights and you just put it on over your uniform.
Take a look at your local Tae Kwon Do site and see what they've got. If you're UK then TAGB UK have them, or find a local club and get it throught them.
Good luck and happy judo-ing
