Wow! ANd I'm gripping about this silly little pacemaker!
That just puts things in perspective doesn't it?

Congrats on your new ticker. Hope your body likes it. I'd imagine you're really erlieved right now. Prolly feel a lot better too. I hope your kidneys kick back in too. It's hard on all of your organs when the natural kidneys don't work. I'll pray for you!

Best wishes - Dave

Congratulations!

Heart Transplant

Congratulations Franko! I have been told I will need a heart transplant. I am not on the list yet. My current EF is 25%. Since you offered to answer any questions, I do have a few.

How low did your EF get before you got your new heart? Also, how long were you on the list and did you get the LVAD?

Thanks for the help, Cathy.

Transplant

Myself, I'm listed right now as 1B and will be heading to my transplant team Wensday. I was told they will be relisting me to 1A at that time.

They were ging to put an LVAD in me just a couple weeks ago, but had put me on hold due to my heart swelling to much.

My question is, did they put you on a IV drip like dobutamine or premacore? If so, how long did you stay on it?

Also, as Cathy questions too! My last EF scan was down to 12 which I know is getting lower by the day.

So, another question is, how long were you listed before you got your transplant? Any health problems other then heart trouble?

Any trouble with the rejection drugs?

What transplant center you used? Were you listed at more then one center? If so, how did you go about doing that?

I had asked a ton of questions from my doctors. As we all know for some reason they just can't talk in laymens terms.

Thanks and good luck, Paul

It may be the first time we've felt a normal heart rhythm in a long time, so of course it seems too fast and too strong.
