My pacer is in the ERI mode now and I have been having this thumping heart beats when I go to bed. Is this something caused by the pacer firing or is it my own heart doing it?
Anyone ever had those experience? Will it go away on it's own and why is it happening as I never felt it before?
Since the pacer is in the ERI mode now, won't it use more energy by doing this?

Interrogation no longer useful

Cabg Patch,
My pacer has went into the ERI mode therefore, it will not tell the doctor anything about the data the doctor needed. It will not allow the doctor to change any settings or tell him how much or how often I am using the pacer. I have asked the doctor to turn it off but he was afraid of law sues in case something were to happen to me.
No further pacer interrogation will be needed in my case until a new unit is put in, which I don't know when that's going to happen. I am trying to get my old interrogation print outs from my former doctor's office but no luck with it. So I am at a tough spot right now as without those print outs, the new doctor won't have anything to compare to.

Cabg Patch & GrandmaD,
Thanks for your concerns.
I have seen 2 doctors in the past weeks, the first doctor just ignored me and doesn't seem to know anything about pacemakers and doesn't think I need a pacemaker or have heart block because the EKG they did in the office was normal.
So I went to see a different doctor for a second opinion. He however, thinks I need the pacemaker because I have one already and whether I need it or not, I should have a replacement, but to be sure, he ordered an Echo on 9/30 to check for my heart and then decide if he will do a replacement or not. So now, I am sitting here waiting for 9/30 to come for that Echocardiogram. If that's normal, then I might not have the replacement, but I might be wrong, since I can never figured what doctors want to do with me.
You know you're wired when...

I love this new part of me, and very, very thankful that this technology exists and I know that it's all only going to get better over time.

When I had my PM "installed" that was really the only symptom I had.(I had no probelms before this). I was told point blank thet this was because my heart was not working properly and had a tempory unit within about 10 hours! You need to get back there and demand a new unit NOT SOON BUT NOW. Don't let them tell you otherwise. This is your life and you can't let them play games with it.
Please tell us soon that you have a new unit and all is well !!!!!
Our thoughts are with you.
