riding bike

ok so ive had my icd for about 4 months now and recently decided to start some exercise i just had a baby on July/08 and 1 day later got the implant it so hard at times because i just don't seem to have the same strength i had before icd is it common to have this emotional stress? my doctor recommended a phycologist due to that it can be still post partum depression or even deprssion itself i recently tried riding a bike 10 minutes later im dizzy..im feeling faint and even started to see blurry..in fact i also started to feel like a ticking on my chest..anybody else feel the same way? it deprssion really comon after implant? thank you all for your responses in advance

Exercise Yet?

My PM born 9/5/08, I'm 63 years young, so different lifestyle (as I don't have a newborn baby, lol).

I haven't had stress tests yet so don't know if there is anything other than 3rd degree blockage, but my doc has told me "no treadmill", "no exercise" - doesn't mean can't go for walks, but take it easy until he gets more testing completed.

I would suggest you contact your doc before you do any more exercising, particularly since you had some reactions to it.

My doc prescribed SDS, I looked at him and said what heck is that, he says "SLOW DOWN STUPID", lol. Listen to your body, pay attention to the signals and signs. All things in time.

I don't pretend to know about the depression, I haven't gone through too much of that since the PM. Couple of days here and there, but nothing major. Keep trying to remind myself how lucky I am to have the PM and so many people around me that care.

hi cristalh, i too iust had to add that i love the sds mind if i use it? yes depression is very common i asked! after all its a big change. keep pacin and vaya con dios (go with God)

hi cris, you should do what i do when i feel like exercising i sit down for 15 minutes and the felling passes. ha ha only kidding. you may be felling anxiety which i think can be depressing. if your icd is not showing an incident then you may be suffering from anxiety. if you need to seek help please do so. i stll have anxiety attacks every so often.it has been over a year since i recieved my icd. i do feel better as time goes by. i hope you get well. yours curly.

very good advise from peggy. Make sure you tell your doc everything that is happening write them down so you dont forget and even the date and time they can look at it when they pull the info from your pm. Its not uncommon to have to adjust your pm. i learned that on here. I have had to have mine adjusted three times. now i dont feel to bad, for having half my heart damaged. I think i will ask my cardio if he can prescribe me the sds and see what he says. hehe that is mean but i love it. Walk and stop often if you need to and catch your breath and let your body slow down. thats what i do. and i have found that riding a bike for me is harder than walking. bike meaning one in the house for me. I guess i dont understand why that is harder really to me dont make sense but it is for me, now that you made me think of it ill write that one down and ask, my cardio doc probably thinks im the dumbest sob in the world and a major pain in the u know what. hehe. hey they make alot of mulla so they can put up with us.

they changed my med from coreg to toprol xl that helped alot and with time its getting better

im 22 and have an ICD too, i love riding my bike, and some days i feel normal with no problems and some days i get shortness of breath and dizziness... it actually is worse around my menstrual cycle. just learn to listen to your body and respect what it is telling you, take a break when you need too, but keep up the activity! its soo good for you :)
