Another Surgery

I have to go in this Thursday to have my pacer repositioned.....it started flipping around in there and now the leads are twisted. Anyone else ever had this happen and if so is the surgery as bad as when they first implant it?? Also do they cut over the same scar or will I have to have another one?

When they do a replacement, they go in the same place, but I don't have any experience with repositioning. I would ask in advance, tell them it's important to you to that they try to only have one incision if at all possible. Good luck!!!!

hi although iam from england and we might do it differently to you i had my pacemaker moved 3 weeks ago they couldnt get it inthe usual place when i had it fitted 3 months ago. so they put it lower down and nearly in my armpit. i had a lot of pain and when i had my ablation done 5 weeks ago they said it was moving about too much and it need ed moving . i went in and they moved it and they then sewed it into the muscle. they didnt go in the same incision as they said it wouldnt heal as well i was already having problems with tenderness and the scar was very red and was getting bigger. they went in just under neath my old scar . i was very sore after wards a bit more than when i had it first done my leads wasnt moved just the box. i was very sore for a bout a week but iam so glad i have had it done i can move my arm and shoulder so much better i would have it done again. im not saying you will have it done the same as me but i can only tell you my story. it has seemed a bit of a nightmare from start to finish but i can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.. if you need to talk please dont be afraid to contact me.

All of this is quite scary! I feel so bad for you and I so pray that doesn't happen to me. I have already had complications - first a collapsed lung - then this thing with my arm. I'm just healing.
