alright everyone, got seen today by doc - she's not sure if there's an infection so she has run blood samples and will get the results tomorrow. She did advise if there's no infection i will still need to be re admitted to have the device "re-suited" (basically meaning the device has to be moved)
apparently, my body is "rejecting" the metal part and is trying to force it back out the scar...

will give more updates when possible.

regards
Peter

Hi there, as if we dont have enough to put up with eh!! Sorry never heard of it before but just letting you know that there are people here who care.

I suppose its like any foreign body that goes into our bodies, some of them get rejected, hope they get you sorted soon. Take care.

I know that if the pacer/ICD isn't placed directly on top of the muscle, it's placed between the skin and connective tissues it can "work" it's way back out essentially. Not saying that's your issue, but that is another reason why it can work out.

Many docs also sew down the lead to keep it from pushing against the skin.

I happened to me

A couple of years ago I developed PM syndrome so the replaced it early and about a week later i could notice it slowly coming to the surface untill it almost broke through the skin. It was pretty scary. But they did emergency surgery and re-suited it.

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
