One week and all's well

It was a week ago today that I had a dual chamber ICD implanted. I would like to tell those who are approaching this procedure, that it was not as worrisome as I had envisioned.

I have had very little pain or stiffness. I was able to get around after a day or two with no problem. I even stained my girlfriends deck this past week, with my right arm. I had a sore tooth the other day and was starting to stress about the complications with the heart and dentist, but it has passed after a day or so.

The nastiest part of the whole thing was the IV potassium they gave me before the procedure, as it had dropped. That stuff burned as soon as it hit my arm. They stopped it and added lydocain to the mix.

But overall, I couldn't be happier with the implant procedure and recovery. I hope it continues at this rate. I can't golf for another 5 weeks, but I was out riding on a cart on Tuesday, and putting.

Now if the leads just stay in place, I will be glad. Thanks everyone for your support.

Bill

So glad you did so well! Staining your girlfriends deck with one arm is ambitious to say the least!

Hi Bill,

I had mine put in about 7 weeks ago now and am feeling great! I definitely wasn't up to staining any decks at first but it didn't take long for me to get back on my feet.

Hope you keep feeling good!
