feeling tried

I had my PM put in on June 4 2008. The morning are good, then some days I experience being very tried, like I could take a nap. Will this pass? I am walking in the mornings everyday. Started at 10 minutes not up to 45 minutes. I still work, but off on leave now, not sure how long to ask the doctor to keep me out of work.

Give it time

Yea you just got to let your body adjust to it...The worst thing to do is sit around and not be active so keep up the walking. I have had 4 of these crazy things and everytime its the same...Just walk it out and you will recover fine..As far as how long to ask out of work...I don't know...But Good luck with it all.

OFTEN FEEL TIRED

I often feel tired even a couple of hours after ive got up. If you feel tired have a short snooze, your body is telling you it needs it. After that, do some activity as doing nothing all day is not what you should be aiming for. Cheers Peter

me too

I too had my pm inserted on June 4 and have rather tired every day...I am an extremely active person & have been walking 3+ miles per day and have returned to work. I am not feeling great...head feels kind of fuzzy and am now having trouble with my bp being elevated. I think the tired feeling will go away in time...My Dr. said to do what every you felt that you coulld without lifting anything heavy and raising the arm above your head!!

So I do think it is an individual think and we all heal very differently...Hang in ....We can travel this road together..

Rib cage seems to be sore

by mtibben - 2008-06-28 07:06:41

I received my PM on 6/4/08. Still sore in the muscle where the doc put the PM, but my main concern is my rib cage feels sore. Especially when I inhale. Has anyone experenced this feeling? Otherwise I seem to be healing okay. The healing process is slow and I do believe it is because I am on Plavix, and it is taking forever for the brusing to clear up where the pacer is.

Look forward to anyone's comments on this.

Me, too!

Hope you are feeling better. I had my PM put in on June 20 so just over two weeks but am still often very tired and have to take naps. Like you, the Dr. has not told me whenI can return to work. I did have a "code blue" heart attack on May 16 and they put in two stents. Then four weeks later did pacemaker cause heart rate kept dropping to 30. I think it all just takes time for out bodies to adjust to this new foreign body and all we have been through...but, good luck and I am thinking of you and hoping it gets better. I am watching the responses as I had the same issues.

Slowly but surely

Well it has now been about 6 weeks since my PM was implanted. Finally all the brusing is gone in the chest and arm area. And the little guy has decided to lay a little flatter on the chest. But I still have some soreness in the rib cage area at times,so I have been taking tynelol and it seems to relieve the discomfort. And I notice that if I walk alot the area of the pacer gets sore, so I ice it and take more tynelol. Now I am wondering if I can begin to lift 5 pound arm weights. Otherwise life is beginning to return to normal. Going for my second formal pacer check on 8/5.

A pacemaker completely solved my problem. In fact, it was implanted just 7 weeks ago and I ran a race today, placed first in my age group.
