Need some advice

Hi folks, not posted on here in what seems like an age. Think last time was my 2nd anniversary which was April this year.
I hope all is well with you guys?!
I have a bit of a thing happening and I'm slightly concerned about some lead damage. The thing is I keep getting a stabbing pain in my left side sort of rib cage area right under my left breast. It's usually when I'm lifting my arm above my head. Now all I know is I do have a dual lead pm but was told I only use the one. They put the other there incase as they wasn't 100% sure if I'd need it. I have heart block and always thought I'd know if I pulled a lead as I would almost definately faint.
I had a pm check 2 weeks ago and they never said anything. Would they know at this check? But don't think I had this pain then anyway. It's come on more frequently the last few days so now I'm worried. I have been doing a bit of heavy lifting of late, every Monday evening as I run my own slimming world group and I have a lot of stuff to take with me which I loadvthe car up, unpack, reload and unpack again once home.
Of I did want to get it checked who would I contact would I go through pm clinic?
I know this seems a bit trivial compared to what some of you guys go through, but it is such a sharpe pain almost like someone is poking a knitting needle into me and it is always exactly the same place.

Thanks

Hey Frank,
Thank you for answering my posting.
Perhaps I have got that wrong then-they did tell me that it is only the lower chamber that was the one that forgets to pump now and then.
Oh well if its there and I'm using it then thats fine by me, I know it keeps me safe and I trust it 100% .
I still don't know what this stabbing pain could be...in answer to your question my pm is above my left breast. its just under my collar bone.
I just dont know. I know I will have to get it checked if it carries on.

Thanks once again,
take care.

Couple of things

First off you are very unlikely to damage a lead after 2yrs. Is the pacemaker implanted under your left breast? If so the pace on stretching could just be from pulling an area of adhesions in the pocket area especially if you are doing some new stretches.

My other question is about using only one lead when you have heart block. Normal programming for block uses the atrial lead to sense the normal sinus rhythm and use it to pace the ventricles. Any other way leaves your upper and lower chambers out of sync with each other which isn't optimum pacing.

The staff at pacer clinics often tell whatever story they think you will buy. The best thing is to ask for a copy of the checkup report, which will list pacing mode etc.

Stabbing pain under left arm

I had that same pain a few days after my PM was installed. I called the Dr. and they sent me to the ER. After some tests they moved one of the leads...problem solved.

If you are still having this problem you should call your Dr. ASAP.

You know you're wired when...

You have an excuse for gaining an extra ounce or two.

I wasn't really self-conscious about it. I didn't even know I had one until around six or seven years old. I just thought I had a rock in my side.
