Tattoos and ICD's

Hello-

I have never had a tattoo before but after everything that I have been through with my heart this past year I am wanting to get one.
I would like to have it on my shoulder but was concerned about if the vibration or magnets would be a problem with the ICD. So my lower back is another option. I did search through the previous posts but most them dealt with PM's.

Any info would be great and I do have a call into my Dr as well to get his input.

Thanks-
Candi

Do a search on 'tattoo', this has been discussed often with some humorous comments.

Hi- Thanks for the info.
I got the tattoo in March and it turned out great!
My Dr advised me that as long as it was at least 6 inch away from my device it was fine :-)
I got a horse tattoo on my right shoulder. It turned out great!

My boyfriend was the first person reported to have had a tattoo with a ICD. I'm not kidding you when i say that the tip of his tattoo actually touched his scar. Anyway, definately speak with you doctor about it. His devise doctor actually came for the beginning of the tattoo and left about an hour later after monitoring his ICD. I hope this helps you.
