Heart rate monitors

We may be seeing heart rate monitors that can handle our pacemakers soon. One of the major integrated circuit manufacturers has announced a chip that can distinguish a pacer spike from the hearts ECG wave. This makes it easy to design a HR monitor that won't be fooled by the pacer. It would also be possible to have it show when pacing is happening. Hopefully one of the monitor manufacturers will pick up on the need.

The interesting thing is that the little chip has most of the circuits that I spent weeks designing for my own ECG. It even includes measurements that cardiologist have told me are unnecessary.

One interesting example is the ability to see the time delay between a pacing pulse and the beginning of a contraction. I don't know what it means, but I'll bet there is pay dirt there somewhere.

What we need is a "You are dying beep", followed by an "Continue?" button. LOL
