Hi Long Time

hi everyone

This is my first message for a long time and as you have all said when I first joined I would learn to live with my pacemaker. Well I have. I have started exercising but have one question, hopefully Smitty or Frank can answer. I was told to run for one hour twice a week. I have done this, on Sat I ran the hour came home, had lunch, cycled to my friends and then returned to go in swimpool. Later on I felt as though I either had ectopics or that I could feel my pacemaker in my lower abdomen. Any good advice.

ectopics

Hi Jules

It is not unusual to feel an ectopic beat with a PM, nor is it unusual to feel the occassional sensation of a beat in your abdomen. It's when these episodes become more frequent that they should be investigate. For example if you are feeling like you are having an ectopic beat while excersing it is certainly worth investigating it is possible that you are going in and out of atrial fibrillation. As for the feeling you get in your abdonmen it could be that your voltage on your pacemaker is set to high and again this can be easily adjusted, and again if it becomes frequent it is worth further investigation.

I commend you on your increase in physical activity good for you.

Please keep us posted as to how you make out.

Cheers!
