Tennis anyone ??

I have had my P.M. for a year and a half. I would like to get back to playing tennis but am unsure how safe it would be. Does anyone know if it is o.k. to play tennis.

Run it by your doctor to make sure you don't have any other reasons he might want you to hold back, but simply having a pm is no reason to stay off the tennis court. You're well past the point where you have to worry about dislodging anything.

Hope you've been out on the court!

My daugther who has had a pm since birth has been taking to the tennis courts for years. This year she is just starting to be able to actually serve and rally, lol. It's one of the few sports I can get her out doing (we don't go during the hottest times of the day). I make sure we have our cell phone with us just incase, but am now considering the "pacerguard", as I actually rallied a ball in her chest last week (not in the battery sight T.G.). While I'm no Roger Federer or Rafa Nadal, but if her own very carefull mother who has played for close to 20 yrs could make that mistake (I do have my CPR training), then anyone else could. I'd have felt horrible if I had of cracked her battery (all it takes is the one time right). It is such a great activity for so many reasons. I hope you were given the green light to go ahead. Always need to err on the side of caution and be aware of who you are playing and who else is playing on the courts.

We are really into it, and under the recommendation of a children's gym franchisor, we purchased the Nintendo Wii system specifically to give her exercise opportunities in the safe environment of our home. There are various fitness/sports and even tennis programs from beginner to pro . We workout all throughout the year with it to keep up our skills and in shape (it really helps improve your game). We called both Medtronics and Nintendo before using and they recommended keeping the antenae at least 12 " away from her battery site. She loves it, and we love that our child who hates gym class for fear of impact, has her own way to keep fit. We recently joined our YM/YWCA and she has to avoid one particular tredmill (the one that takes your heartrate on going), and has personally decided to avoid them altogether. You are the expert of what you are comfortable with, I encourage you to trust your gut instincts on an as is bases. Ball's in your court now, lol.

Thank You !!

Thanks so much for taking time to send me such an
encouraging email. No, I haven't gotten to the courts yet but certainly will. Thanks again,

Just because you have a device doesn't mean you are damaged goods and can't do anything worthwhile and have to lie down and die. In fact, you're better and stronger. You're bionic!
