Our world though has become a large, impersonal, cold and busy institution, and we're alienated from each other by distance, either living different in cities or countries, meeting up seems remote & a chore ; But when there's a will, there will be a way! And we HAD our way! It's "member meet member" time!!!
Peter and Nina and I did just that! Thru God's grace, Paul, my daughter and myself met the Nash in London on July 6, sunday for a very heartwarming few hours in a lovely seafood restaurant to chat our "hearts away" over lunch. After that we could even manage another cup of coffee at Harvey Nichols :)
Such an experience I've never thought would ever come true...Thanks to this wonderful site (& Blake) that made it possible.
Peter, Nina and my family got together for the first time and thru correspondence via email, there was like no space in between that needed to fill up, cos we just continued where we left off and we all got on like wild fire! (though in a gentle sense of course..)
This site has given me a sense of well-being, confidence and a place where I find solace and sometimes even, dependence, where we perhaps at times can't find elsewhere or at home. Our members are usually very kind, caring and warm for we speak the same language, know our limitations and needs.

It's good that Peter and I did see each other, the one complaint was the hours past too quickly! We would really like to meet up again, but it means either side flying halfway round the world...Nonetheless, what the heck, we only have one life. So Peter and Nina, thanks again for coming down to London and till we meet again, "shared joy is double joy"! You'll never know when our paths might cross again. God bless for now.
Bunnykin.

Hello Bunnykin

It is wonderful to read of such a nice and joyous meeting with two pacemaker club families. My husband and I also enjoyed meeting with Peter and Nina last Spring. It was lovely!

As with both Chrissie and you, my life has been enriched by the wonderful friendships I have made here at the Pacemaker Club.

May our stories of making and meeting friends in far away places inspire others to do the same.

I am so happy to know that both you and Peter were strong enough to make the trip and home again. May you both enjoy many more.

Hi both, (if you happened to come back to this post);
Thanks for writing and am so glad that you too had the wonderful similar opportunity to meet up with that sweet gentleman and his wife! :) Yes we made it there to the meeting venue and back to our respective homes in one piece....So important to be well when we travel isn't it? Well, I wish you both good health and many more visits with other members in the future...God bless you all.

Hi everyone

Well I can't add too much to what Bunnykin has already said......just one of those days one treasures for ever... It was a real pleasure meeting Bunnykin and her family and I hope somehow we will be able to do it again... the time went so fast ..but that's how it goes when you are having fun!!
It is hard to believe that 18 months ago I could not even get to my front gate.... which proves just how good it is to have a support group like on this site....just to be involved and listen to what others have to endure is a real eye opener... and also a learning curve ....

I wish to thank Bunnykin Susie and Chrissie for taking the trouble to meet me....it has been a great pleasure that I will always hold dear.......also not to forget my email friends who I annoy with mails most days...of course I have an ulterior motive for all this ....with all the time it takes to read and type and get excited and planning to meet a member I dont have the time to worry about my ticker !! that has to be a plus.

Thank you all happy days Peter.N

But I think it will make me feel a lot better. My stamina to walk is already better, even right after surgery. They had me walk all around the floor before they would release me. I did so without being exhausted and winded the way I had been.
