Hi friends,
This is all so sudden; It may be quite irrelevant to post it here but I know as a member, you my PM/ICD friends are a group of kind and wonderful people I can turn to.
I am requesting for your prayers if it's okay; My husband had a colonoscopy done last friday and had found many polyps, and Dr was able to remove all but one. He said this last one was difficult to remove cos it's lying in awkward position and will need proper surgery to take it out clear and clean. Cos of his family history of CA colon, we're very now worried. With my own current problems with arrhythmia and possible lead complications, I hope I can address and cope with this upcoming inevitable operation of my husband's. Tomorrow we'll see the surgeon to discuss and perhaps to arrange for a date for surgery.
I am praying and hoping that the operation will not be too drastic for my husband. I AM scared...for him and myself. Pls pls help pray? Thanks. Bunnykin.

In My Prayers

by Wannabe - 2008-04-21 01:04:25

Poor Bunnikin - so much to bear all at once. Of course you and your husband are assured of my prayers for your wellbeing. I hope I don't sound preachy or sanctimonious but would like to offer you the comforting words to be found in Isiah. Ch 41, v.13 - 'For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying until thee, "Fear not". I will help thee" ' Thinking of you and sending every good wish to you both. Wannabe

So sorry...

by susanspurs - 2008-04-21 02:04:19

So sorry to hear of your husband's problems and I do pray that all will be well.

Two days after my PM was put in, my husband had a colonoscopy as he had unexplained bleeding and they removed quite a few polyps. There was one that they couldn't get to so they booked him in for another colosncopy with a super duper colonscopy expert but said that he might have to come in and have a small operation to remove it. Believe it or not when he had this second one they found that the very difficult to remove polyp was in fact part of his anatomy (a valve I think)! They did in fact remove another couple of small ones and thank goodness the analysis of all these polys was negative. But he now has to have a colonoscopy once a year.

Thinking of you.

Prayers

I'm so sorry you and your husband are going through all this. Please know you are in my prayers.

A few years ago I had a relative go through something similar and everything turned out great. The "different-looking polyp" they couldn't remove during the colonoscopy was not malignant. And the surgery to remove it wasn't difficult.

Anyway, I'm sure all will be OK.

God Bless,
Suze

Thinking of you and your hubby

by Swedeheart - 2008-04-21 05:04:37

Sending the best wishes and thoughts to you! Good for your hubby to get the colonoscopy done! It sounds "early" and they can do so much... I hope he is home and recovers quickly!

Remember to value each day we have here and enjoy your time with your family. Life is precious, it all goes by way too fast!

I had a colonoscopy to remove a polyp by general anaesthetic on 1 May last year. My polyp was difficult to remove under local anaesthetic as I have diverticulitis. The operation itself is nothing, you are put to sleep and wake up thinking 'have I had the operation yet'? It was that simple. I will pray for your husband that everything is negative. I would think they are aware of your husband's family history and are keeping a good eye on him, so hopefully will have caught these polyps well in time.

Try not to worry too much.

Thinking of you

Nothing is irrelevant when we need prayers and support for something, that is what we are all here for. I will be praying for you and thinking of you both. Take care and think positive like I will for you. Billie

Prayers

As Billie said, nothing is irrelevant here among your friends so put that out of your mind right now. We do not limit support to just cardiac problems; this is pretty much a "holistic" group of people joined by a common bond - cardiac devices. You would be amazed at some of the issues we have dealt with here that are outside the realm of cardiac. When one of our members is burdened everyone jumps in to be supportive and provide shoulders and sounding boards.
Your husband is being lifted up in prayer right now as I am sitting here. What is hubby's first name, so I can add him to the official PM Club prayer list? Fortunately, with colonoscopy these problems can be identified early on and usually resolved with surgery. How long since his last colonoscopy? it would be good to draw a comparison if they have not already. We all know it is very stressful for you, too. I think you have already learned how much support, nurturing and love you will receive from the wonderful PM Club folks. My life is so richly blessed because of them! Please let us know when surgery is scheduled. Take care of yourself. I ask God to bless and hold both of you in the palm of His mighty hand.

Count on it!

by bambi - 2008-04-21 12:04:15

One thing you can count on here is prayers, best wishes, and positive feed back! I personally will pray for both you and your husband. I know first hand how frightening a cancer scare can be! Thank God your husband had the colonoscopy and the Dr. found the polyps! They can usually successfully treat this condition when it's found soon enough! Please take care of each other and come through this all the stronger!
