Encouragement

Hello friends... I've noticed that there are some new people and have been some depressed members in the past. Here's something that I thought was inspirational...

Do Not Quit
When things wrong as they sometimes will;
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill;
When the funds are low, and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh;
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but do not quit.

Success is failure turned inside out;
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt;
And you can never tell how close you are
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit-
It's when things go wrong that you must not quit.

if you are going to be a dr. there may be many days you want to quit. once i wanted to quit nursing. i was barely19 and i hated it at first. i loved the schoolwork but i missed my family so much i cried every night. those were the days when the good sisters were not so kind and told us we could not go home for 6 months. i didn't quit tho. they made me see an internal medicine man to make sure no problems and he was gruff and the first thing he said to me was what's bugging you miss? he got right to the point and because some where along the line i developed a stubborness and was unwilling to tell him anything and i said i will be fine and i was. i think back and maybe had he been kind i would have wept and carried on. he wasn't so i decided right there and then i would get thru it and i did. i wasn't the only one for heaven's sake and i had to grow up at sometime. so there you go a little story about me in my youth jessie

What a great post!

I smiled when I read the poem and smiled when I read Jessie's story! Thanks you two for a nice way to end my day! I recall going to live and dance in a professional company in NYC at the ripe old age of 171/2! I too desperately missed my family, and wanted to quit a few times! But what I learned was I could survive and support myself and make it! Life gives us lots of opportunities to fly, fall, get up and do it again!

Smarty pants! LOL! I was 17 years, 6 months, but I know you're just fooling around! But don't worry, sometimes pacemakers last longer than 5 years, so I'm sure that will save you some bucks! Have a good day!

Hey thanks for posting what an encouraging poem. I have anger in me tonight with all this water we are getting here in Iowa. I can't be complaining b/c it could be worse but what a sad situation it is to see towns getting destroyed right in front of you. I think that we all need to be hearing more often that we can get through anything with the right mind set.
Thanks again! I do know that I won't likely be on this for a while but I do hope that all of you who are facing trials can see how many people care about you and are around for you. Be Blessed and know your loved!
