I'm having slow beat issues. Pacer check tomorrow. Anybody know about adjustments possible? This thing is too new to be going dead.

Ask to have it interrogated. Make note of the times you counted it lower than your minimum. They can pull it up on the report and see what the pm was doing at that time.
Sometimes if we are having pvc's or pac's, there will be little beats we don't feel when we count so our heart might actually be beating higher. Do you feel ok when it happens?
Try not to be in the habit of counting all the time, it will quickly make you crazy! :) I only count if I'm symptomatic.

I have timed it manually at 42 beats per min over the past 3 days. It is erractic tho. Sometimes it's normal. Pacer is supposed to be set no lower than 60.

I am symptomatic! Feels just like when they replaced the 1st one. I'm going into Tucson tomorrow for a pacer check. Just hoping they can adjust it so I don't have to get a new one. The old one lasted 9 years but I'm fuolly paced now so I guess it will go dead sooner. Feel pretty crappy when it slows down and good when it's beating normally. I'm not set up for interogation since we have a clinic here. Medtronics not here very often tho. Thanks, Tracy for your comments. I've been keeping track of BP and pulse since sunday

If you have PVC's or PAT's AND you are NOT an experienced pulse taker, you will NOT feel them, giving you a false reading.
My experience is that you spring the $35 or so for a finger pulse oxymeter like they use in the Dr's office. They will not be spoofed by the weird beat because it goes by the reflection of light off the blood under the finger nail.
Last time I was in my Cardio's office, I sat & watched the Pulse oxymeter for a couple minutes & actually SAW the few PVC's I had - they obviously came early & were not as strong as normal.
As a sufferer of lotsa PVC's, I know the feeling of being crappy when you have them in runs or very frequently among normal beats. Your description sounds about like I have felt w/ them.
Going for a pacer check tomorrow, eh? Ask them to teach you how to feel for a pulse & how to recognize PVC's. Takes practice. First time my Wife tried to take my pulse, she counted 36 heart beats. We took me to the hosp & my HR was actually 72 - but half of them - every other one, to be exact, was a PVC & she did not sense any of them.
I was admitted & 2 days later went home w/ a PM.

If you feel bad, something is going on. Did you get a new lead when you got the new box? Almost sounds like a lead isn't working. Fingers crossed it's a simple fix!

Went INE! Yeah!! probab ly 3 more years. Tech says I am probably having prfemature beats which I can't feel manually and the BP machine doesn't see. Is this pvcs?
Sounds like it. Currently feeling pretty good. Tech says there are meds for premature beats. I see the doc in March if not sooner. Thanks for all your comments. Great to have people who get it!! PS leads are good too.
good idea about getting an oxymeter. Did not know they were so inexpensive.
Going online to see about premature beats. Good night all!!

How slow is slow, and how are you counting it? If it's a beat or two under your lower limit, that's normal and just a matter of counting. If you are using a monitor, count manual because they are notoriously inaccurate with us.
