Hello everyone! I haven't been on here in ages. I was actually forgetting i even had one. Then last week I had a V Tach episode and past out. My daughters age 11 and 7 where home with me and my 11 year old called 911. It was pretty scary. I had a cardiac arrest in 2007 and it took 29 minutes to revive me. So needless to say my girls where very scared. I keep trying to assure them I am fine but I truely I am shaken a bit. What bothers me is that my ICD didn't kick in tell after I past out. They did fix the setting so my pacemaker kicks in earlier and if that doesn't work I'll get a shock. I also had a nice black eye from the fall. Now they took my License again for another 6 months. That is as long as I do not pass out again.
I go back to the ICD clinic on Friday for a follow up. I have had 3 more episodes all small and they corrected themself. It scary though because you want to be independed but sometimes it makes you feel like you don't want to be left alone. Well thanks for letting me vent.

You have very smart little girls. They did all they were suppose to do. Tell them they did a fine job taking care of their daddy.
My goodness,

Hi Deb, you are a very amazing Mom! You really are, you are doing all the right things, you are obviously a great Mom. Just look at what your girls did! Great job girls! I don't even know them and I'm proud of them.
Deb, it is so hard to be independent and yet you are concerned about being alone. My goodness I can sure relate to that. Things will get straightened out and your settings will be put right. Please hang in there, as they say. You have friends here.... we care about you. I hope that you don't faint again!
take care,
PG

You are indeed very fortunate to have your young daughters respond quickly to your emergency needs. The feelings of vulnerability and not wanting to be home alone can be powerful emotions. They are feelings that so many of us have and still experience. I hope that your follow up at the ICD clinic helps to allay any concerns about your device's settings.Continue to be positive and happy and live life to the full.

Yesterday I moved to a new place in my mind and realized how bad I felt 'before' and the difference my pacemaker has made.
thanks
