Hi
Allan (42) from Edinburgh here
I have a pacemaker fitted approx 12 months ago for sinus bradicardia and also paroxsomal bouts of afib
Been on thyroxine for approx 5 years as I has my thyroid gland burnt out via radio active iodine.
I am on thyroxine every day which prior to my implantation for pacemaker was a fine art as too much would make my heart palpitate and too little would make me exhausted.
Anyway since my pacemaker was fitted last year I have been on beta blockers that have been making me feel exhausted every day and sometimes breathless. But i have just had my tsh level back at 15 when it should lye between 1.5 ad 5 my doctor has told me to increase my thyroxine slightly my worry is that it may cause the palpitations to return.Does anyone else have this problem .But of course the beta blockers may help from that.I am booked in to see top thyroid specialist in 24 hours maybe he can shed some light on situation

My pacemaker has ultimately saved mine and my unborn childs life for which I am thankful.

I have been on synthroid for 3 years,,since amiodarone (for a-fib) messed up my thyroid. Along with 7 other heart meds,it is no problem. No doubt the fatigue is being caused by the high tsh.Your body should adjust to your heart meds after a couple months and you should have no problems.
best wishes
