Hi everyone Allan (41) Edinburgh
Well i have my pacemaker now.
The actually procedure took less than an hour and was totally painless.I didnt feel cables go into my heart it only made my heart beat a little faster .
The cut site is very tidy that does ache quite a lot for first 48 hours but pain killers help.
I have been up and about every day but by about 1 pm i am totally knackered but i feel strong in mornings is this normal. i guess it will take a while to get my strength back i see things more clearly i suppose thar is because more blood is getting to my brain. Still a little bit dizzy but not greatly
I will keep you posted
Allan

Sounds Normal

Hi Allan,
It sounds like you are doing well. It is totally normal to get tired as the day goes on. You are recovering from "minor" surgery but it is a pretty big adjustment to your body. I was pretty dizzy for a week or so but it got better with time. Rest when you are tired and take care of yourself. I am so glad you checked in to let us know how you are doing.

It takes time

Hi Allan,
I had my PM since June ' 07 and have had 4 adjustments made . The last one was about 3 weeks ago and all the dizzyness and weakness I had felt are gone. It takes time. You WILL feel better.

Hi Allan,
I am 3 weeks since implant. I have a lot more energy and am not sleepy all the time. I too have had dizziness since the implant along with ringing in the ears. I can only hope these symptoms will go away with more adjustments.

As everyone has said, it will take you some time to recover. It wasn't until about week 4 that I was starting to feel like myself again. It's good that you are getting yourself up and going in the morning and it's ok that you tire out and need to relax the rest of the day. Don't beat yourself up about it!
Happy pacing!
