Hi all.
Received my ICD this past February. Have any of you had your device repositioned due to the device protruding out? The top of my device protrudes out enough to where you can make out the device design and the lead going out and up about half an inch, probably due to scarring. I have an appointment with my surgeon next week about this. He has mentioned placing it lower on the chest, but doesn't recommend a sub pectoral placement due to lead issues.

My 2 cents

Hi, welcome to the club. Since it's been almost a year you would think the fluid in the pocket has been absorbed allowing the device not to jump out.
Without a picture it's impossible to give you Fatherky advise.
I can feel and see top half of my device and trace one of the 2 leads up and the curve by my shoulder.
Pacemaker Pocket Revision

Hello,
I'm scheduled to have mine revised this coming December.
The first PM I had was great and I never even knew it was there, no problems. The new one I had placed 4 months ago has been a problem since. My new LBB lead has been great. The PM itself is protruding, you can see the entire shape through my skin, it hits my clavicle when I lay down, and I've had constant, sometimes severe, shoulder pain since placement. I'm going to physical therapy for the shoulder and the physical therapist believes it's the PM irritating my shoulder and not frozen shoulder.
My new EP said he can do a pocket revision and move it so it's not causing problems. There is an increased risk of infection with a revision. Something to consider.

Your surgeon should be able to advise you on this...and if insurance would pay for the revision. My device is where it was placed three years ago so I can't comment on having one moved.
