I can't think that there's a direct connection between the two.

I wonder if you are maybe changing your posture as a protective measure.

I find that lower back pain soon kicks in if standing and working at certain heights.

Joking aside it's about kitchen worktop height and leaning forward slightly into the washing up bowl.

And yes, it's painful.

Lots of causes so lots of potential solutions.

Joseph, chest pain can be felt in the back sometimes.  I used to get upper back pain and it was related to my arrhythmia/angina.  You should consult your doctors for a diagnosis and not assume this is pacemaker related.  

Did you have any complications during pacemaker implant and why did you need a pacemaker?  Do you have heart failure?  Lots of questions, but without more information, it is difficult to know what to tell you, apart from seeking advice for severe back pain.

Since getting my 2nd pacemaker, I've noticed that we are getting more wet weather. The increased rainfall is certainly affecting my quality of life. 

I was never warned about this at the pacemaker clinic !

It is good to have you back to put things into perspective, although chronic back pain is certainly no laughing matter.

Hi there. I'm wondering where in the back you have pain. I had lots of back pain after receiving my pacemaker. The pain was directly across from the pacemaker area by the left shoulder area towards the spine. The muscles are cut to put in your pacemaker and those muscles wrap up beside the neck and to the back. 
 

As soon as I was cleared for therapeutic massage, I had a therapist work on those muscles. She also helped the muscles down the left arm as well. It took several months but it's fine now.

Pacing itself is not going to cause back pain. Things that might cause it

- manipulation during the surgery

- change in posture due to soreness

- change in sleep position due to soreness

Talk to your doctor about physical therapy or massage.

So sorry you've been experiencing back pain. I know how difficult it can make one's life. I live with a deteriorating spine.

But rather than attributing your pain to the pacemaker, I think you need to see your PCP or chiropractor and perhaps a back specialist to have it diagnosed, and hopefully get some relief.

The fact is that pacemaker doctors do hearts and pacemakers. They don't do backs. You tell them about your back pain and they are just going to shrug. Back pain isn't a known side effect of pacemakers.
