Now I know why I had problems with Entresto! Gonna try it again....

Many of you know my issues with Entresto, I didn't exactly tolerate it well right away the first time. And you want to know why? Well... as it turns out, they forgot to tell me that I was supposed to stop taking my Losartin because you can't take both together! It's no wonder I had problems right away! So... with that said, I've decided to give it another go. I'll take the lowest dose, cut that in half and start there. Wish me LUCK everyone! I'm hoping that the Entresto, combined with my other therapy will finally raise my EF. It seems to be the common denominator with others in my situation, so I really hope it helps with me too.

Entresto

Janene, of course I wish you lots of luck with Entresto.  I hope it makes a difference and brings your Ejection Fraction up.

I see taking Entresto with Losartan, an angiotension II receptor blocker (ARB) can increase side effects because Entresto actually contains Valsartan which is also an ARB.   Do you mean your doctors allowed you to take both Entresto and Losartan?  If so did they ever explain the potential risk of taking two meds containing the same ingredient?

I hope they are starting you on a low dose and that they will keep a close eye on your electrolytes.  Stay safe but stay positive for a good outcome.  You certainly deserve one

I take Entresto and Carvedilol

and I like that combination as I have no side effects from them. I was having lots of intrinsic beats resulting in reduced bivp% of 88. They up titrated both of them to 49mg entresto and 6.25 carvedilol (twice per day) and no more intrinsic beats. My bivp% was at 99.8% back in Jan. I'm hoping to hit 100% at my next report :)

R2D2, how is your bivp% doing with the meds you are on? The higher the better! Hopefully you feel better on the Entresto..
