Shooting pains

I would say that no, it is not normal. However, you had lived almost 60 years with nothing in the spot where your pacemaker now resides. So if you get an occasional shooting pain and no other symptoms, it is unlikely to be anything to worry about. If it is more than a very brief occasional pain that continues unabated and does not subside, then you should be seen by a Doc ASAP. I believe that it is always better to be safe than sorry! While two years may seem like a long-time, some movements may still cause a pinching feeling and/or minor pain that you are just not accustomed to. It is perfectly normal to be hypervigilant with regard to the attention paid toward aches or pains at or near the PM site for your first few years of having it. I still sometimes do it after having mine for 35+ years.

Please know that this is all just my opinion. It is impossible for me to be able to know what's going-on with any certainty. It never hurts to check with your Doc or his nurse whenever in doubt!

I wish you the very best!

Sincerely,

Dave

You probably have a monitor that checks you while you sleep? It would let your doc know if anything was wrong. Muscles and nerves take a long time to heal and can zing you now and then. I am almost at the three year mark with mine. I'm 100 % dependent too. The pacemaker is keeping us alive. You can easily check your pulse at home to verify it's beating ok. As Dave said, a dr can check you and reassure you!

May God send the peace that surpasses all human understanding. May he calm your fears and flood you with a sense of total trust that all is well. ☺️

Pain

It's probably nothing but if it continues it's best checked.

These shooting pains can occur all over the body for no apparent reason.

You can pinch yourself one place and a nerve or whatever responds somewhere else.

There are more subtle reasons for twitching rather than pain that are pacemaker related for instance mode change due to battery end of life.
